thankyou. Yes. I knit it with the yarn leftover from my v-neck sweater. I knit the vneck sweater from the yarn from a cardigan I wasn’t wearing + some extra yarn purchased because everyone else said that the v-neck ate up yardage.
There are maybe 4 yards of yarn left over, which I’m pretty proud of managing.

In a shocking turn of events, I got dressed today. Didn’t shave my legs or decatify the pants, tho. Not getting carried away.

Loving that wall colour behind you too.

Actually I see two adorable things in those pictures.

Very glad to have such kind friends I looked deceptively stylish and svelte in that picture, so im uploading what I usually look like. Unironed, frizzy, and rounded.

Sorry, is this picture of you in a cute dress the adorable one? Or the first one? Coz this one is cute too.

In solidarity with the “uploading what I usually look like”:
How I spent most of this morning and how I would look all day if I didn’t have a video call, including messy sleep pony:
Getting somewhat presentable from the waist up because I have a video meeting later. Hair stays up in the towel for a minimum of ten minutes but usually more like two hours because it keeps it out of my face, but then it looks nice and curly/wavy.

I am wearing sweat pants and quiche this morning, compliments of the toddler.

In which meerkat posts a ton of pictures of her work shirts. This was useful for purging things that need to be donated but also in pulling a bunch of things that have deodorant stains so I can try to tackle them all in one batch of laundry.
Seeing all of these together helps me get an idea of what’s working for me, what’s not working for me, and how I want to spend my money in the future. I think a lot of these might be “fit and flare” but as shirts instead of dresses? I know not fashion words. Also I might, miiiiiight think about getting a maxi-dress. Maybe. But that will at some shopping trip after I’ve returned to an office like a Real Adult, and I’ll probably make @Marcela hold my hand through the process.

Getting donated. I like the idea of this shirt but the fabric is not comfortable. Bought from Ross when I was new to the working world, I’d say I’ve gotten my use out of it.
Picture taken for neckline, this is getting donated because it no longer fits. Usually worn with a white tank top underneath since the neckline is more V when actually worn.
Oof. I knew this shirt wasn’t great but nah. Hits me at all the wrong spots. Donate!
Has a grease stain, but even still I don’t love it any more. Donate.
Usually worn with white tank top underneath. Fit better when I was in my early 20s and hadn’t made another human yet, also wow I didn’t realize it was this see through without an undershirt. Donate. Bought from the same website as the above shirt, sadly the website no longer exists or I’d buy this again in a larger size. The site I got it from had lots of steam punky clothes so I think of this as steam punk-ish if I put it with the right outfit.
The “It’s not technically a tshirt and is therefore a Nice Work Shirt” category:
Not a tshirt shirts
Took a picture this way so you can actually see the neckline
Usually worn with an undershirt so I can bend forward without being paranoid.
My favorite of the “step up from a tshirt” shirts. This one is really comfortable.

When you want to be a Fancy Lady but also the air conditioning is set way too low
This shirt is actually black but I adjusted the exposure so you can see the wrap-ness
Normally I don’t go for busy patterns but I think of this as white noise (blue noise?) and kind of cyberpunky in the right outfit. Weird posture to show off silver buttons at the shoulder.
I loooove this shirt but unfortunately it’s probably getting donated. There’s a spot in the front where I think the fabric got messed up but I’m going to see if maybe it’s just a stain. I love the sleeves and neckline though, it reminds me of bunting.
Back of the same shirt. I like that it ties in the back. Oops, I didn’t fluff it out right, pretend it has the same cut on the bottom of the back as the bottom of the front.

I think it is so smart to go through like this and do the whole category. I’d say for the stained ones just toss them, it sucks to get something at a second hand store and then discover a stain after taking it home.

Good call. I made sure everything with stains made it into the laundry pile and is currently pretreated and if it’s still stained later you have released my guilt on just tossing them.

This isn’t so much an OOTD as a try-on pic, but: I bought this dress. It’s way too small to wear buttoned as a dress. But unbuttoned as a vest, it is AMAZING.

I strongly support the long vest life. plus pockets
