I find that my weekly selfie here makes me feel better about my body in a way that surprises me and that feels rare in my life. Thanks for this space, y’all.
Also I wore NOT A DRESS because I finally got myself some (thrifted) jeans that fit.

Almost looking like a winter outfit there. But then the sandals. Sigh, California.
Casual Friday*! Now with pink Magic Shirt ™ (*Not official. We can wear jeans/casual anytime. As long as they’re paired with socks and sandals. Kidding. But we do get that here. Also, I never go as casual as my coworkers because imma Woman In STEM and that’s life.)
This is how I deal with highs in the low 60s: heavy top + cool feet = appropriate level of warmth. (To be fair, I also just got back from a trip to Cleveland… I’m temporarily adjusted to actually cold weather.)
@diapasoun I love your cozy orange sweater and @galliver I love your pink and purple argyle vest!
I’ve been wearing jeans and t-shirts/sweaters for weeks and am tired of it, but not enough to make the effort to do more. Went to the theater this evening, so I finally put on a skirt again. (And comfy boots, because I took a two mile walk to the theater instead of waiting for the bus.)
Trying on a day pack. It’s one of the “big ones” but still feels like it was sized for a child. Also, it’s flannel weather.
I think the pack looks normal on you - it is empty, so looks flat of course.
Pair that with a tiny cowboy hat fascinator and you’ve got your look!!
A little small looking but not crazy. My bf carried my small backpack (comes to my waist) and it didn’t quite cover his scapulae. I was giggling the whole time.
Ha! And yeah, it’s almost alright. Biggest real issue is the how far the straps are set apart, any weight and it bites into my neck. I’m not ridiculously large, but I am an absolute diva.
@Gdogg , yes. This hat must happen
Then it doesn’t fit - don’t get it. That will forever be irritating (chafing, blisters) - no bueno.
Hahaha, I love it.
Some recent outfits photo dump. The outfits I wore during my FMLA leave mostly consisted of leggings plus t shirts/ nerd tanks.
We flirted with the idea of cold weather last week so I got to wear my favourite coat from the children’s section of walmart, with my wool swing dress, leopard print yoinked from my sister scarf, fleece tights and my one pair of brown shoes. Filthy mirror is filthy. Houndstooth leggings plus one of the ten thousand burgundy sweaters I own, very old kicking around wedge boots. Black skater dress, plus slightly snagged burgundy tights, black payless pumps. Bonus scarf from trip to San Antonio a few years ago and burgundy dangle earrings.I love that last look!
I agree!
Frecks, you are the absolute cutest, and I love your dress.
Thank you! And long live the comfy sweater dress!!
