CW: mention of death/dying

English lyrics if you want to read before listening

It’s a fight that goes beyond bad or good,
It’s a fight between can and should,
So bounce to the sound make a revolution,
This is an act of war, this is the evolution

Remember those who raged before,
We’re the last straw,
Hard to the core and we’re ready for more,
Rise up!

And get on the attack
Become the generation to break the camel’s back!
Said: break the camel’s back!
Said: break the camel’s back!

Rise up!
And get on the attack,
Become the generation to break the camel’s back!

(Some Gujarati lyrics)

“Hey there hi, I’m ready to die!”
The rare kind of guy who’s willing to try,
To take the big shots at the big boys,
Boom boom bang, make a big noise,

Shake it up I got the big toys
Ride with us we’re the best of the rest,
Grab the power by the neck and put it to the test
No flag on my bulletproof vest

Talk to my heart so I never gotta guess
Hear those who came before,
Fear what is yet to come,
Know what you’re fighting for,
It’s why we go to war!

Wow! You like your music with a lot of energy. :astonished: The previous recommendation was more my speed. I’m too old for your music, @meerkat :flushed:

Nice

It’s helpful for when I’m doing a lot of data entry or reading dry contract language and need to keep my motivation up. :joy:

My more relaxed Pandora station has a lot of tracks from videogame background music. You might like something more like

Enjoying the new John Mayer EP. It’s a throwback sound and it works for him.

ETA just realized there’s a full JMayer album out too lmao. It’s called Sob Rock.

This track from Jack Larsen is really pretty. Lyrics are almost Grimes-esque.

This album is from 2011 but I discovered it in 2020 and it really hits different given our landscape:

The best track is “Riding for the Feeling”

I’ve been trying to listen to more music in Spanish and this one really grabbed me. Luis Fonsi’s voice is so beautiful. The english translation of the title is something like ‘tell me you won’t go now’

I love Spanish language music–especially anything with a cumbia beat, which isn’t hard to find living in Chicago! Here are a few bops:

Becky G

I love anything Kali Uchis does. Her latest album, Sin Miedo, was a no-skip for me

Chicago band Divino Nino is so great in person if you can catch them on tour sometime:

Tatiana Hazel isn’t big yet but I have a feeling she’s gonna blow up. Logan Square born and raised!

And obviously ROSALIA is the GOAT:

For some reason it’s much easier for me to find female Spanish artists I like (Bad Bunny is inescapable lol, which is fine but I like variety), so I’m excited to check out Luis Fonsi!
