My boyfriend is lusting after that RAV-4 too! But he wants it for driving on sketchy mountain roads
Our dish soap bottle is clogged, and somehow that turned into me investigating out an $80 touchless soap dispenser? WTH?? Good thing it’s sold out for 2 months.
I hate those, they dispense WAY too much soap, you go through a TON and it takes forever to rinse off. One of my patients homes had one. Does that help?
My bras are falling apart except the “impractical ones” (read: recreational accessories). One shrunk in the wash because I was bad and put it in the wrong temperature (it was a free bra, so I guess it’s okay).
Should I spend $35 on two new comfy (NEW, NOT USED! What am I?) bras on sale at Aerie?
Upside:
- Have more than one bra to wear on a regular basis
- Bras are half price
- Not acquiring used, probably less stretched out than my usual clothing swap or thrift store bras
- Can actually read reviews and pick based on what I want, not what’s available
Downside:
- spending money
- Aerie is a GIANT COMPANY that definitely does not make their stuff in a good way
- mostly those two again
Always buy good bras and good shoes IMO
I mean, a GOOD bra would probably be from a good company. But…I want a decent bra for not $50-$100 I think? Agh. values clash.
Yes! Thank you, moving on.
You can’t go anywhere to by Fit for a good one right now, either, right?
I am surprisingly consistent in bra sizing, and I’m looking at bralettes anyway, so not super worried. I want another bra that’s essentially a supportive lacy crop top (that’s the one I shrunk in the wash and now only covers like 3/4 of my boobs.)
Well, then I’d say find what you want that’s an ethical or local one, so you can compare actual money and not theoretical, and go from there?
Oh, I did some looking.
All the “ethical” bralettes are either
- not very pretty or
- not very comfy - very gorgeous but not comfy (like What Katie Did)
I found one company - wearlively, but their factory is “owned by them” but 0 mention of living wage just that they can control the process.
I mean… it sounds like a situation then where you can’t even find what you need via your normal channels. I’d be comfortable branching out then. It’s not like you buy from fast fashion to wear something for two weeks then chuck it out.
oh no i got into a hole of researching bras now…
omg I kinda just want to buy the stupid aerie ones to avoid doing any more research lol. Though I do enjoy looking at boobs.
What about about checking if Poshmark/ebay has any new or lightly used options you like (slightly smaller footprint even if they come from a terrible manufacturer), and if not get the new Aerie ones?
I looked! I couldn’t find my size! That is the way I usually acquire fast fashion, lol!
I think you’ve done your due diligence and it’s time to buy what you actually need. Also, you know I don’t advise spending money normally, but in this case, spend the money.
I mean…do I really need more than two bras? probably not really? My amortization on bras is quite good, though. Current main bra was $28 acquired in 2015. Second bra was acquired for free, but it’s not… the best.
I had a bra that I loved that I also got in 2014 and lost sometime in August or September on a trip - but I haven’t been able to find what the style was called. It was unpadded lacy mesh with a sturdy underwire and regular straps. I loved it because it folded down super small for travel.
Nah, probably two is a fine number. But both of the two need to fit well and be comfortable in that case. It sounds like at the moment you have some number, of which zero fit well and are comfortable. Therefore you need to buy two.
I mean, what I obviously need is vintage shapeware to complete all of my costumes with the proper undergarments. Instead of a $25 bra I can instead purchase a $100 proper regency era stays.
