Objects of Desire

I hear you.

There definitely is an infertility book I’ve read named Inconceivable.

Bf has OluKai meshy slip ons he’s been wearing a lot. I tried some on at Nordstrom Rack and they were super comfy. They might be a little soft, but I think worth trying?

Oooh I loved the Olukai stuff I saw when I was in Hawaii! I’ll look into that. Might be a little spendy though.

Yea, bf got his at REI garage sale (used returns), and NR had them for like $40, but with obnoxious pink accents. Normally they seem spendy…

Occasionally, I want junior mints.

Additionally, I want to feel like a competent human being.

But mostly I want junior mints.

I also want Junior mints. I don’t really care about the competent human part.

I don’t know what junior mints are, but now I want mint slice.

Now that I’ve heard of mint slice I also want it.

I want take out. I want it to be reasonably priced and something that everyone in my house will eat.

Quick desire dump because I gotta get these off my chest:
Sonders Thin E-Bike.
22ft aluminum telescoping multi-position ladder.
A palm sander.
A Jig Saw.
15k oly bar (told myself I could get this when I sold my old bar, never did).
Double Burner Induction cooktop.
Three ceiling fans.
An iron for my growing list of crafts that require an iron.
A snuffle mat for my dog.
…I’ll stop.
My desire cup overfloweth, er whatever.

I will say… induction is amaze-balls. Literally a key reason that will motivate me back to home ownership.

I’m just waiting for the ceramic electric stove top in the house we bought to die so I can replace it with induction. Die die die! A real step down from gas for us.

For me, it’s like: electric is bottom of the heap, then natural gas, then induction is the gold standard. I loved induction. I will say though the low power little one off hobs like you get in efficiency apartments aren’t nearly as awesome as a proper range.

I want an Emile Henry No Knead Bread Pot even though I currently can’t eat gluten.

Sigh. I think this is an aspirational desire.

I did put a couple of Le Creuset pots up for sale, one I’d bought on clearance and the other on eBay. They’re just not great sizes for us. So maybe I’ll revisit this once they sell, because someday I’ll be able to eat gluten again!

I think I need to take a holiday in an air bnb with an induction cooktop or something before we redo our kitchen.

I keep reading that induction is better for cooking, better environmentally, better, better but I love gas (even our rubbish one cooks great) . I am too scared of making a mistake and regretting it.

And I can’t wait for this fucking gas oven that has to be lit by hand to die, so I can replace it with an electric oven with induction stovetop… Sigh.

@PDM I bought the baby carrier! I found a “good” deal on a used on so took the plunge. “Good” because the onbuhimo style is apparently an expensive style, so not low cost overall.

Took it for a test drive this morning watering the garden and love it!

I want two hats: a straw sun hat and a witch hat. The difficulty is, I have a small head. No witch hat I’ve tried on in a Halloween store has ever fit my head. So I can’t just find a hat online that I like the look of and order it, because it probably won’t fit. There’s a straw hat in the antiques market near me that is almost exactly what I want, but I can’t bring myself to spend $40 on a vintage hat that I’m going to pull the fake flowers off of.
