Objects of Desire

Want to buy. Also don’t want to buy because I want to buy it to learn about living a lifestyle that involves buying less but am I just being sold another thing?

My library has it. I should go to the library, yes?

Go to the library. If it’s truly awesome and you think you’ll reference it a lot, buy your own copy, but only do that if it’s truly awesome.

I borrowed this recently. It’s good. A fair bit of blue sky thinking in there - a lot of community stuff.

There is a good book by milkwood permaculture too.

I have it and like it. Grab the library copy and see if you do too.

Have Milkwoods as well, it’s pretty in-depth on their four topics of choice.

3000 sq ft outbuilding behind my house for gym, homebrew, and other hobbies. I’ve talked myself down from 5k sq ft, so I think this is reasonable now comparatively.

That’s almost 3x the size of my house!

I do support homebrew though…

I want a new baby carrier! I already have two for me (stretchy and one for gardening) and one for my husband, but I think since baby is getting bigger, the style I want will be nicer to wear.

A $300 shoulder brace. It would probably reduce my regular shoulder dislocations and reduce pain and damage to my shoulder, arm and hand. But maybe it would do nothing. And $300 Is a buttload of money.

(No, insurance won’t pay for it. I don’t have that kind of insurance)

There are cheaper shoulder braces but all of them have a strap that runs across the boobal area. No bueno.

But who would ever expect a shoulder brace user would have boobs? Inconceivable.

Go for it! Does your country have Egrobaby 360 as a brand and model?

You keep using that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means.

Yes, but I’m looking at a style called onbuhimo. I have a similar one to the 360, but it became my husband’s carrier because those more structured ones don’t fit my narrow shoulders well. The style I’m looking at doesn’t have lots of padding so I think it’ll be able to fit me better.

Approved. I think we have 8 carriers after the recent addition of a hiking pack baby carrier.

Thank you @PDM for enabling yet another purchase

I need to crowd source this one. Anyone have any good shoe recommendations? I need something I can slip on/minimizes having to reach my feet that I can walk long distances in and has arch support. Ideally not too expensive either :grimacing: this might not actually exist… I have high arches, but I’m also worried my feet will swell as pregnancy goes on.

My sketchers ballet flats have decent support and are hella comfortable. They adapted to my crazy wide feet.

Is expensive medical device worth it? How do I know?

I wore my Clark’s loafers pretty much exclusively at the end. They don’t have the style I have anymore but these are close. I find Clark’s shoes always have decent support and I didn’t have to bend over to put them on.

Also being a Fall/winter baby it was nice to have shoes that were slip on but still sort of kept my feet warm

Thank you guys! I haven’t been looking at ballet flat styles, I’m not sure why! I guess I just assumed they wouldn’t have good structure. I’ll look that Avenue, thanks!

Something something boobs/conception joke/the original quote being from a conversation between two dudes. Pretend I’ve had caffeine already and am witty.
