Final thoughts after going back and reading the spoilers
Nick and Danielle: think they might work out but they have VERY different lifestyles. But then again, I know a couple where the guy was super clean and neat and he married a woman who was seriously filthy… I was in her car once and was like (in my head) “how on earth did you manage to get the ceiling of the car so dirty”? They’re still happily married. Hopefully Danielle’s friends don’t get drunk and dance on Nick’s table
I read for Season 1 that even if it’s not working out, they force you to stay the 30 days and go through with the wedding, and that’s what happened to Mark and Jessica. Guess in Season 2, it was obvious that Kyle and Shaina were over, and the drama with Shaina going after Shayne made such better TV. But it totally explains the Shake/Deepti situation (he knew as early as the resort that he wasn’t attracted to her) and the Sal/Mallory situation.
@AllHat I disliked Natalie as well! I found her interactions with Shayne so irritating and found her to be unlikeable.
But yeesh, all that harping on the “strong emotional bond” that was made in the pods and “s/he’s my best friend”. It’s like there were a list of catch phrases that they encouraged the cast to say.
It was fun watching this with everyone’s comments but I’m also glad it’s over so that I can stop wasting my time on this trash

He did not seem super sure after he said I do…. He had a “wtf did I do” kinda look to him. Hope he and Danielle settle into their relationship better.
Natalie/Shayne -
I thought they were super incompatible at first, and then they grew on me during the middle section, but I guess they still had serious issues. I wonder if Shaina pops up in the reunion
Natalie didn’t make that much of an impression on me in the pod side from it seemed like she and Shane had actual conversations whereas he and Shaina just seemed to be into flirting and almost phone sex kinda stuff with the Never Have I Never game.
Then after the pod I thought they were a better fit … Because my opinion of Natalie went down. Not because my estimation of him went up. But should they get married? Hell no, not with out a lot of work for both of them.

I’m not surprised Nick and Danielle said yes but I feel like I’d give it a few years at most. Nick was sometimes a tiny bit obtuse, but really I fell like it was mostly Danielle blowing every tiny thing way out of proportion? They dropped some hints that this was maybe her stress reaction to the pressure but honestly I would be running a million miles from her.
Shake and Deepti. I wanted them to work out right until the moment that Deepti said no and Shake immediately dropped all the stuff he’d been saying about their relationship and went right back to being super party-time and shallow and wanting to save face. She dodged one heck of a bullet!
I never expected Sallory to even get to this point tbh. It really felt like Mallory was still not really attracted to Sal and regretting that she’d turned down Garrett, but kept trying to spin it in a way that made it Sal’s fault for being jealous? It reminded me a lot of the Kyle/ Shana stuff actually - in that the underlying issue was a lack of attraction/ regret about lost chances with someone else, and then both Shaina and Mallory tried to focus on another issue (like In Shaina’s case the religion is generally a huge issue but he kept trying to show he was willing to move towards her, and she kept just ignoring all of that)… I felt for Sal, I really did, and I’m glad he was the one who got to say no in the end (I wonder how they picked who went first?). I do not think they’ll date seriously after this but let’s see!
Shayne and Natalie. Oh my god, they just felt so mismatched! I was kind of surprised at how mean Natalie could be sometimes, and I really felt for Shayne just wanting some reassurance that she actually liked him. But also Shayne just seemed so clueless and kind of volatile like, all the time- and I thought how he reacted to being embarrassed at the baseball thing was a huge red flag. Not really sure I followed what happened with their fight, but I’m glad it happened the day before the wedding rather than inevitably after!
Seconding a lot of people here in that I worry that Iyanna and Jarette are going to have a really one sided relationship where she has to make all the sacrifices. But they are hella cute together and are basically the only people from this show I’d want to hang out with so I hope they make it work.
I haven’t gotten around to watching Season 2 yet, but I have been thoroughly enjoying reading the play by play here I don’t even know if I need to watch it at this point!
I only watched 10% of the meeting the families stuff and skipped the bachelor/bachelorette episode entirely. I’m doing the Japan version now, I think I’ll try going from the pods right to the weddings cause why not, lol.
I actually feel like if you’re going to get on the show, that’s the best possible outcome! No one judging you all over the internet and recognizing you.
Haha I knew a guy who actually won Beauty and the Geek! My sister and I were talking to him about how it changed his life, and he said afterward people would recognize him on the street, and he got invited to a lot of “B list” parties. He got on the show by accident, because he had just done a weekend LARP and was in full on knight gear, and his friend was like “you’re coming to this audition” and the minute the producers saw him they were like “we have to have him, he’s the perfect geek”
Or also Shane who I think was the one starting off with “What are you wearing?”
(I totally would have been like “I was going to do sweatpants but Netflix required that I be camera ready even though you can’t see me so I’m wearing a dress someone else picked out for me cause I couldn’t be arsed to care.”)

LOL, I kept internally eye rolling when (in literally every version) the show starts with people questioning aloud whether it’s even possible to fall in love without seeing the person. Like, the show is called Love is Blind…they do realize there are actual blind people who can’t see ever and who fall in love, lol, right?!
(That’s actually what I thought the show was about when I very first saw the name, I thought it was a matchmaking show for visually impaired people. I was super wrong!)
