Nicer this afternoon than the last few days at 16F and no wind, so we went out to play in the snow with friends. Some walking, some sledding, some rounds being pulled in the sled all added up to a fun 1.5 hours outside for the toddler, and as the sled-puller, some sore muscles tomorrow for me.
Sunny and 40F here so we went for a little lunchtime walk. Still a bunch of ice/snow on some sidewalks but we got out for half and hour yay! Itās supposed to be even warmer Saturday so I hope to get out for a bigger chunk of time then.
Total outside time 2022 = 6 hrs.
Going to be almost 90F today but we took an early morning trip to the park! The last two days Pipsqueak has gotten pool time with our nanny which is awesome because it tires her out and she takes a second nap (so glad the nanny is a previously certified kid swim instructor!)
This is amazing! I was just looking into swim lessons for Kiddo this spring/summer.
Itās beautiful out today close to 60 and sunny. Piglet and I spent an hour at the park then went for a 45 min walk.
Total outside time 2022 = 7.75hrs.
Gorgeous day here too. We met a friend and her twins (Latteās age but half her size, lol) at a nature playground. It was GREAT. Long drive but so worth it for a nearly 2 hour play session. Creek, ducks to watch, giant trees, sand area (itāll have water come summer!), logs to climb, other kids. And sunshine

30 minutes outside! Was nice
Sounds awesome!
Itās snowing and 28 today. Thatās winter in New England for you. May bundle up and play in the snow this afternoon. It looks like good
building snow.
The heat wave wonāt let up here so outside time is limited to early mornings and late afternoon. At least since itās February the sun goes down pretty early and the weather feels pretty comfortable after about 4:30 (unlike Aug).
Weāve been spending a lot of time with chalk on the patio and sitting on rocks around the condo complex.
Got out for about 45 min. We headed over to friendsā house pulling the toddler on the sled, and they thought it was a great idea so we kept walking! Two adults and three sleds worked out better than I would have thought, so we are planning to go again soon and actually get some exercise.
Weāre starting yet another heatwave, this one humid, so I got out this morning to hang on the patio⦠And then a huge orange wasp type that was 3 times bigger than a normal wasp buzzed past my head so I legged it back inside!
The girls got out twice today. The first was to play at the playground and the second was for splashing in the melting snow
Today, a trip to get the mail turned into a 30 min outing.
Made it to a Free Forest School. Long drive (30 min) which is why I donāt usually go. Iāll probably start āhostingā them when the weather improves closer to home. But it was great, 4 families/5 adults, 7 kids (plus one baby), one was Latteās age. Short 1.5 mile loop hike, not flat flat but no cliffs which is good for around here haha. A little stream that everyone waded in. (It was 50F today although cloudy, so I wasnāt worried about like instant hypothermia). In spite of her Oaki suit and rain boots, I didnāt have the cuffs cinched tight enough so she flooded her boots. Whoops. I pulled her boots and socks off for the walk back and had some emergency mocs in our diaper bag Iād brought, so she wore those out. Then spare pants in the car. We were out for an hour and a half.
And now sheās sleeping, so Halle-fucking-lujah.
Naptime = winning
Yes, it takes a mere mile and a half long hike and a dunk in a river every day to get my child a nap. Completely sustainable. Oh, and my husband has to be the one to put her down for sleep. Definitely not a problem since he travels all the time.

Itās an odd one-off warmer day today, so we did 1.25 hours walking to the coffee shop with friends. Two adults pulling three kids in sleds again. Still a good mechanism for walking, but downtown there wasnāt enough snow on the road to keep pulling. Next time we sled walk it will be on the quieter, less plowed streets.
The high for the day is 38F (right now, during nap
), so planning to go out again for playtime in the afternoon. The days are all or nothing right now, but when the snow melts it will be so much easier to get out most days.
