I’m sorry you didn’t get the knitting needles, but I hope it was a pleasant walk.
Thank you for resurrecting this thread. I knew there had been one but hadn’t gone searching for it. Now that the monthly challenge isn’t one I can craft into a movement one, I need another place to report my efforts.
Just discovering this thread! I’m looking for some accountability. I only took the dog for one walk today (1,500 steps). My husband did the morning walk and I was absorbed by work today. I want to do much better than that tomorrow and get back into my nightly exercise routine.
Keep in mind it is December in a mid-Atlantic US state. Overcast skies, air temperature 50F (10C), water temperature 45F (7C). Four women set out on our local river shortly after noon and headed upstream. Recent rains meant the river level was significantly higher than our outings last month. This made attaining (paddling upriver) easier in some spots that had been too shallow and harder in others - fewer rocks to provide eddies, faster current to paddle against. The effort kept us warm, if not dry. We reached our goal (the upstream end of a particular island) and headed back downstream on a different course, through some fun little rapids. Along the way we saw geese, mergansers, herons, and vultures.
Did some yoga this evening for the first time in a while. After a full week of keeping a decent routine, I’m ready to add this back in - I forgot how good it feels.
I took 2 short-medium walks on Saturday and Sunday and did light weights and push ups. Took one short walk this morning and plan to stretch this afternoon.

+setting things up for my wife’s squat day. In a normal gym this wouldn’t be an issue, but the stuff I have is heavy duty enough and I’m tall enough that it’s a little precarious for her to move things I’ve been using.
Since the biggest shopping day of the year fell on my birthday, I got a spin bike that I’ve been wanting forever. It’s been great to have around, especially because the spin studio from my college town has free online classes right now and the instructor/owner is amazing and so positive. It’s just what I needed.
I’ve also been getting out on nice walks with Bobbin and B around our neighborhood most days which have been restorative.
I’ve also been keeping up with my PT exercises which my back and shoulders have thanked me for.
Because of said PT, I was able to go for a run yesterday with only very minimal strain on said foot. It felt really nice, because I had a lot of energy and it was nicely brisk outside.
I can walk down our driveway AND up the street a house or two now! All by myself! Trying for a walk every other day at the moment, as well as ad-hoc stretching.
