How Did You Move Today?

I have now been doing this stretch and crave it a lot. It feels so good!

Iā€™m going to give it a go this evening!

It does bother me just a tiiiiiny bit that he describes the setup as a squat, his knees are WAY too wide for a safe squat.

Safe is relative to an individual body. For me this position would be safe now; in fact we practice overhead squats against a wall in exactly this position :slightly_smiling_face: I hate them because they expose lack of shoulder mobility like nothing else Iā€™ve done!

The same would NOT have been true a year ago! I would have fallen backwards the moment I started!

I always feel more comfortable having someone show me how to use equipment. I tend to use it regularly afterward, where the times Iā€™ve tried to teach myself I just feel weird and stop using them

Thatā€™s fair. I injured myself by squatting too low, too wide and with too heavy weight. Six years later and my SI joint is still messed up.

Oy, SI injuries are no fun. I injured mine years ago and it took quite a long time to regain stability! I vividly remember my doctor trying to avoid being explicit in some of the early restrictions by saying, ā€œNo, erm, pelvic fun.ā€ Ummmmmā€¦ :joy:

It was an L&I claim, too, and I reinjured because I was told I could go back to all activity from before. They did not anticipate me playing racquetball.

Elliptical this morning, and some walking planned for this evening (tacos on the wharf!).

Neighbourhood walk Monday, Tuesday and walk to and back husbandā€™s birthday dinner Wednesday. Nothing yesterday and my back felt it so I might try a gentle yoga video if I can find a good prenatal one tonight. Must really book into a class soon but Iā€™m too good at procrastinating.

Borrowed a bike and rode all over TouristTown today. 19 miles biked plus 2.5+ walking. Ouch, Iā€™m not used to biking that much. I figured it would be nbd because flat. I was wrong.

Yeah, Iā€™d feel like an uncoordinated ass and slink away in shame if I tried to figure it out mself, I think.

Did a smidge more climbing, rowing machine, and elliptical. I may regret this tomorrowā€¦

Walked from home to the train station and from train station to the office. Need to get consistent on taking the stairs as my office is on the second floor.

I swam for a full hour and now my entire body feels it in a good way.

I walked to & from the cafe (1km round trip) and did an hour of Tai Chi.

5.5 mile hike with 1200 feet elevation gain. Shouldnā€™t have been as far, but Iā€™m bad at following trail blazes today

Oof, I went to Pound class (drumming fitness) yesterday after not going for a month (first I was on vacation, then the instructor was on vacation). Everything now hurts. Use it or lose it is real!

Today itā€™s supposed to be 55 and my garden org is having a seed swap thatā€™s a fair distance away but I think I am going to walk there and back rather than bus.

I ran outside in sunshine when it was about 50 degrees F. I wore shorts! Itā€™s been a while since my legs have seen daylight.

Two short walks and the first day of 30 Days of Yoga today. Iā€™d like to keep up with that, though I have no idea where the time is going to come from.

Iā€™m back on 30 days of Yoga too. I fell off the wagon mid last week with my weekday yoga because I got busy with work which is exactly what Iā€™ve been trying to avoid. So having this so that I donā€™t want to lose my streak helps because brains are weird.
