How Did You Move Today?

just under 5km walking today. Knees have been iffy, I probably overextended them stretching yesterday.

Have had a fevered baby all day today but just had 10 minutes to myself to do a quick flow and it feels sooo good to move.

Itā€™s not ā€œmovingā€ so much, but Iā€™ve been trying to add in a little yoga nidra to my days and there is nothing quite like trying to do a body scan with a cat flopped on your belly. Except maybe for those of you trying to do body scans with toddlers flopped on your bellies.

I think I need to spread out my cardio more. My lungs are getting fried from doing it at the cadence Iā€™m at right now. (This knowledge brought to by last nightā€™s rowing session and this morningā€™s elliptical.)

I mightā€¦ lift weights again?

Movement over the past three days:

  • Kayaking! About two hours.
  • Walk with my neighborhood group. About 5 miles.
  • Yoga. One hour.

Today tried a Pilates video mentioned above (hey why not, I suppose) & then yoga.

Today it was raining and I just happened to see a yoga for rainy days practice in the February calendar so I did that. It had a lot of pigeon and I love pigeon so I am happy :blush:

Nice cool morning, so put Ewok in the stroller for a long walk to the pharmacy, then the play park, now the cafe, soon home. My legs are very happy to have had a good stretch.

Iā€™m currently walking for an hour on a treadmill before I get presentable for my big meeting of 40 people. Not looking forward to being trapped in a car for 3 hours after it to go to the second meeting location.

I walked with Wizard last night and the dog this morning. The dog wanted to walk by the picket line, so he got lots of pets from excited, underslept grad students and I got to give Wizard a kiss.

Last night I climbed. Am noodle.

My new job is on the third floor, so Iā€™ve been making an effort to take the stairs multiple times a day.

Actually, Wizard has to walk me. (I joke that Iā€™m his golden retriever girlfriend ā€“ I need regular walks and treats.) The uncertainty is what it is; itā€™s nice to see the amount of positive press itā€™s gotten, though.

I LOVED working on the fourth floor. So many stairs! I always felt like a badass.

Did a 4 mile hike sunday that was very easy. This same hike tried to kill me over the summer. Granted, the weather being cooler helped, but Iā€™m very happy about the improvement.

Today was a recovery day for deadlifts, but i still like to push it. Letting the joints and CNS recover from the heavy training and the travel while still pushing the muscles.

315 x 40 reps (10 second break every 10 reps)

I lifted weights last night for the first time in ages! It was a good feel. All dumbbell exercises (bench, row, skullcrushers, shoulder press) plus some work on the chinup assist machine (I am too weak to do them on my own). Looking forward to adding this to my exercise rotation.

Pomsquad class last night. Instructor warned us that it was the same routine that she did at the other gym location Monday and that she barely made it through herself, so ā€œhave fun, haha.ā€ Oof. Ow my arms.

Should I pay for a couple personal trainer sessions at my gym purely to figure out WTF one does with weight machines? I am clueless. I know I could probably google it but I feel like I could use some extra help.
