I keep trying to find different folks to follow for yoga practice, but I keep going back to her because of the searchability for targeted time or specific issues.
Yeah, this is why I like Jason Crandellās stuff so much ā anytime I need a sequence, I know I can find one.
Itās nice to have both videos AND stand-alone sequencesā¦ glory be to the internet.
Iāll have to look them up!
I havenāt checked in a couple of years, but I used to use the Down Dog app for yoga all the time. Iāll have to look up the recs in this thread!
For hip opening, my absolute favorite thing is a stretch called Tactical Frog. It is AWFUL but holy crap there are such obvious improvements within just a few times of doing it, I almost crave it now. I hate and love it equally.

ETA I am not at the point of extending my leg!! I can get through step 1, on hands, and step 2, on elbows, and thatās it, but itās done wonders for my pelvic girdle.
jasonyoga.com ā just search on there for sequences!
Omg Iām looking at that video, katscratch, and it makes my hips feel things just watching him do the warmup. I have no idea how much of my hip tightness is flexion (definitely some of it) and how much is funky hip structure (it feels like my bones are often in the way), but I 5000% understand how you could crave that stretch.
(Man, I really wish that we all lived in the same town and could get together for morning and evening stretching sessions. I feel like I would learn so much and be SO limber.)
This is pretty much my gym. My friendās personal trainer started a gym and they invited all our friends. I get text messages from multiple people if I start making excuses about not going; itās pretty great
Your gym has long sounded super amazing.
Ran 2 miles in the freezing cold, ok it was technically above freezing (33F) but I got out there and did it even though I was talking myself out of it as soon as I left for work. Going to do some Yoga/Pilates if Puglet stays sleeping if not Iāll do it when he goes down for the night.
25 minutes on the exercise bike, I am still a bit jetlagged and waking up early so I went before work and was finished by 430am, so I was able to try my new guided meditation app afterwards, which I didnt particularly like, but I will try a few different ones before I delete it.
Had an unusual high of 65Ā°^F today, so I went for a walk near the woods today.
I had to walk a fair distance in order to park the car at uni today. I get to walk back later.
OH and I also had already walked Duckling to daycare! So Iām definitely fitter than when the thread started.
Yesterday I walked for miles doing what I call the ānew employee scavenger huntā (getting ID, etc) and today I went bouldering! I donāt last very long, but hey itās a start!
Did 20 minutes of yoga this evening.
As soon as I hit enter Puglet woke up of course. So I did my Pilates Challenge in the evening after he went to bed. I was feeling āgood soreā before I even started so even though itās only like 15 mins long it is a really good workout. My abs havenāt gotten much attention since pre-Puglet days so Iām feeling really good about these workouts.
Today is a ārestā day in the challenge which envolves a Yoga workout. Looking forward to doing some good stretching. Tomorrow or Sunday I have 4 miles on the 1/2 marathon training schedule and the weather is looking not so bad (44 F Sat an 50 F Sun)
I did the pilates and some of the stretch/yoga exercise you linked earlier. Thanks for posting it! I found it challenging but not discouragingly so.
Glad you liked it. I feel the same, it is just enough of a challenge that I feel like Iām getting a workout but no so much were I feel like I canāt do it.
Ran 4 miles!!! I havenāt done that much running about a year and a half.
Walked 2.5 miles home instead of waiting for the bus. Got home about 2 minutes earlier than I would have on the bus and I got my exercise for the day.
Swam for an hour last night, trying to learn the breast stroke. Iām incredibly sore today.
38 minutes of yoga this morning.
I was just coming here to post this SAME THING!!!
2.74 miles and faster than the bus!
