Yesterday I went on a coast walk with some folks from our local FI group and then I laid on the couch and watched nature documentaries. It was incredibly satisfying.
Boyfriend said this morning that he was going to go to the gym after work and I was like, hm, I guess I could go to zumba there tonight, but I’m just not sure I’m up for the instructor’s manic energy? He isn’t as bad as the guy on Sunday, but it’s still kind of a LOT.
Then realized, DUH, self, you can just go there and use the treadmill and bike like Boyfriend always does. So, we’re going to work out together. Yay!
(I’m also very proud of Boyfriend for going to the gym without me literally dragging him there.)
Hell yes for both you and Boyfriend!!!
I ran 1.14 miles yesterday, part of it was up a hill! I hate hills but I’m so glad I made it out there.
I hope to report back tonight that I have made it to my mat for some yoga either during Puglet’s afternoon nap or after he goes to bed for the night.
Yesterday’s movement was walking Loki in the morning and rowing + PT at the gym in the evening.
I went to the gym this morning and did some elliptical. Pondering a walk with Wizard and/or some yoga tonight.
Yesterday I workout with Puglet, he makes a great 20lb weight. We did some deep squats and baby lifts I also managed to do about 15 mins of yoga and a few other random excercises troughout the evening. I was doing leg raises while reheating my leftovers for dinner.
Just finished my YWA and today was the first day in a while I haven’t really felt like I could settle into the practice. I was super off balance the whole time but I got through. I think my anxiety over my client call in 30 minutes was seeping in.
But then, right at the end she invited everyone to sit with palms up, eyes closed and said something about being open to receive. Because the universe is silly, that’s when it clicked and I calmed down and suddenly also had a puppy licking my open palms. Quite the literal “Hey, you there! Here’s some love!” from the universe.
Lest you think it was a perfect angelic moment, right after that he pounced on me and then turned his ferocious energy back to tearing the hair out of his trump dog toy
Continued to keep up with foam rolling (although my calves inform me today that I need to up my stretching routine). Today I went on a long walk and did “hill of life” on part of it (where I go up and down repeatedly on a steep uphill section). Two days ago I had an intense elliptical session at the gym wooooo
Giant tiger AND a big grocery store
Did some yoga routines for lower back, upper back, neck and shoulders this morning. It was a beautiful way to start the day.
It was 50 degrees today. And sunny for the first time in weeks. So I took TWO walks.
Barre class in the morning, then a walk in a new-to-me neighborhood this afternoon. It was a beautiful day for a walk.
Had to make up for yesterday, my third day so far this year with no special movement.
I walked to and from book club (about 60 minutes round trip).
It was bizarrely warm and sunny today, so I got the road bike out and cleaned up and went for a ride. I was hoping the nice weather might last for a couple days, but apparently there’s a winter weather advisory tonight so I probably won’t be doing that again for a bit.
Just finished some yoga today, felt really good. I think I’m going to focus on getting yoga in during the weekdays, and then other movement on the weekends with yoga as an option if I feel like it.
This weekend I did lots of active play with Bobbin, she particularly enjoys bouncing on the exercise ball with me - the giggles are the absolute best part.
Hey, me too!
Came here to update: I got up extra early this morning (5 am as opposed to 5:30/6) to do some light PT exercises for my foot and to do ~20 mins of yoga.
I’d like to make this a daily practice, I really need to be stretching for the sake of my foot (rehabbing prior injury), hips (also prior injury) and upper body (office life is killing my neck/shoulders).
I also feel much more focused at work today, which could just be that I’ve recovered from the prior work week, or it could be that stretching and getting my blood flowing first thing in the morning helps. Maybe both.
I’m feeling very, very stiff today. I had to be in the office both Thursday and Friday, which means no exercise or PT (the full commute is around 5 hours and I just… don’t even try to move on days like that), and then this weekend was full of people-stuff that involved sitting fairly still.
On the one hand, boo to feeling stiff. On the other hand, walking the dog this morning was nice, and the idea of some time at the gym tonight feels like relief instead of effort, which is a pretty cool feeling.

Work has decided that we need to take home laptops because of business continuity stuff and WHO declaring health emergencies, which means I’ve had to switch back to my backpack, because I can’t carry my laptop on a bag on one shoulder without hurting something or other. This [eta being required to take my laptop home] is somewhat silly imo, but I am a rule follower.
So I walked to and from work today with my laptop. I did arm weight exercises yesterday, but it won’t happen today and that is ok.
