Yesterday was back day. Dumbbell rows @ 140# for sets of 10. Rack-chins (sort of like pull-ups, but a little easier because I’m enormous). 2 sets of 80 on ab crunches. (This give me an amazing full core cramp at the end that I spent a good 3 minutes thrashing around the floor trying to figure out how to stretch. So that was weird.)
The good news about this was before training, my back hurt so badly I could barely sit still. After training, it’s felt fine. Sometimes it feels like I just have to tire it out so it’ll stop knotting up.
Yesterday I did both workout one of the second week of my post partum program, and went on a long (for me right now) walk with a friend to a coffee shop. I did TWO movement things! And my legs aren’t Suffering today! (Yet)
Took the pup for a training walk while the baby stayed home and napped on her dad. Didn’t go super far, but the pup did well, and I got some movement in.
Tried to walk the dogs, ended up carrying one and the other one pulled to go as fast as I would let her to get back inside It will be so much easier w New Pup once it’s warm outside again.
Yesterday though I walked about two hours trying to find a store that wasn’t out of eggs. Bah.
I did a yoga on Sunday and IT DIDN’T HURT. Bless Jason Crandell and his sequences. I’ve been thinking that some of my issues may also related to my generallly tight hips (everything that isn’t my fingers is tight, ugh) and so I did this sequence. I went very very light on everything directly involving that Achilles, and generally this felt good and didn’t give me any heel pain. I’ll have to be careful about it, but I’d love to be able to get at least one sequence in a week again.
Did a long-ish hike yesterday which maybe was dumb. Elliptical and PT earlier today were okay, but now I’m feeling a little sore in the heel. I’ll keep talking to the foot and see how it goes.
I’m still doing yoga (whaaat?) except I am behind by a day, don’t know how that happened. That’s a lie, it happened Monday when I got the PS2 and DDR became accessible again and I played it for an hour (oops). I played again today but limited it to 30 minutes, and that was better for my feet, 1 hour was a little much right now for them. I’ll maybe double up the yoga tomorrow (AM/PM) and be back on the schedule.
@Illathrael Are you another foot pain person? Hallo hallo!
Yesterday I went to the gym and did some srs elliptical time, plus my PT exercises.
Today I went for a very long walk in lieu of the gym this morning (I was pretty tired when I woke up) and I’m planning on a walk to my volunteer shift and another session of the Crandell yoga sequence I posted the other day, plus my PT exercises, for this evening.
Did my YWA today, noticing I’m tight in the hips and left side of my neck today. I think the cold weather settling in and my tendency to cocoon into my blankets and not move are catching up to me.
Also did a few rounds of stairs with carrying groceries + a sleeping Bobbin into our 2nd floor walk up
I suffered a stress fracture on a hiking trip a few years back, went through PT, was fine. Followed a very low carb diet about a year ago, way overdid my carbs one day, and my foot flared right back up again. Went through PT, got it mostly under control, but not back to 100%.
Now I’m very very bad at following my at home routine and 100% need to replace my shoes again.
Oh yikes. I had a stress fracture in high school but now luckily only feel minor, very short-term pain if I land on that foot in a really messed up way. (That is bonkers that a high carb day did that – wow!)
I need to replace some worn-out shoes, too – sigh!
