I do this too. I figure I open the doors a lot?
Me too, but we live in Colorado and everything dries out right away.
It freaked me out a lot when I realized other people had multiple towels mostly because theirs took so long to dry when you hang them up after a shower. Every time I go to Wisconsin I feel like my clothes are damp all the time and I hate it.
I’ve been outside the last three days! Getting back into the groove!
I think I missed stretching yesterday but I’ve done it 2/3 days so feeling pretty good.
Thinking about this in terms of habit forming, it’s easy to figure out how to incorporate being outside into my daily routines. Right now that looks like a walk outside with the baby in the early afternoon (or just sitting on the patio). That may change in the coming weeks but I can easily think about how/when to fit it in.
Stretching though…I don’t like doing it right before bed, I’m not able to do it right when I wake up, and the rest of my day is kind of chaos. So I need to think about how/when it can fit into my life as a habit.
I’ve never had any trouble with it in the deep South. I shake off the excess, pour off any if I have a slightly convex bottom of a cup, and figure it’s good. But then I leave things in the dishwasher so long they’re usually dry!
Oof. A week is about where I start to falter. Right on schedule. Did not want to get up and floss and brush and wash up and journal. Wanted to keep painting. But I did!
Yep same. Forgot to exercise today… Oops.
Start again tomorrow! I believe in you!
I was happy I did some stretching last night while watching the baby. I was sore from walking doing errands and didn’t wanna. I missed Sunday though so I didn’t want to start a slippery slope of not doing it so I did it!
Ditto, Boyfriend and I ended up getting into a long discussion (not a bad one, but a Discussion) and before I knew it it was 10 p.m. and I was exhausted. Do a few stretches done on the couch while watching TV count?
This would be so much easier if outside were an option, I’d walk around the block a few times and that would count. But {eyes completely unshoveled, ice-caked sidewalks and MOUNDS of snow over the curb cuts which prevent you from crossing the street - and is a giant fuck-you to anyone with mobility issues but that’s a separate rant} yeah, no.
Exercises that I discovered today can be done during boring meetings where I only have to half-listen and don’t need to talk but do need to wear a headset:
- squats (I prefer to call them grands pliés though, sounds prettier)
- forward fold
- tree pose
- warrior pose
- chair pose
Things that don’t work so well:
- plank
- sun salutations
But, I did all of the above!
I think that on days that I don’t have a class I am going to sneak movement into my workday somehow. If it gets to be evening I get caught up in dinner/cats/chores/talking to Boyfriend and then soon it’s late and I’m tired and it doesn’t get done.
I have an hourlong all-hands tomorrow that promises to be really boring and that I typically don’t wear a headset for so I may try some more ambitious movement then!
I love the shit out of this. Yessss to exercising during stupid meetings.
They would definitely feel like less of a fucking waste of time and since I am technically IN the meeting I can bill it to the relevant project code!
Which is almost like getting paid for exercising!
What I did in stupid meeting today:
Next time, should try exercise.
Somehow last night–a Thursday–was the night that I barely made it into bed before 10. But I made it!
My second covid shot might kill my PT goal for this week. at least I hit my walk goal.
Your pretty nails tho! I haven’t tried the polka dot thing since I was a teen. Of course, now I can’t keep my mani looking nice for more than 5 minutes so I don’t bother any more, haha.
Last night I did Pound class. It involved a lot of lunges, arm things, and the thing where you lie on the floor and lift your butt in the air over and over and over again.
Today my ass and thighs are killing me so I think I’m going to call it good with the 15-minute walk to the mailbox and back. In the snow! and 3 degree windchill! uphill both ways!
This week I haven’t been so great about sleeping and powering down early.
Mostly it’s emotional.
So that’s an interesting observation.
Still doing my journal everyday. The baby hasn’t been waking up and then going back to sleep at a convenient time to do it first up but I’ve been finding time everyday and getting back to it before bed.
Oh, as soon as it quits raining I’ll run mine, and I has to do some significant patching today because I washed my hair. But it doesn’t really matter if I just let it wear off since no one sees me…
