Grocery pickup. Election slash pandemic worries stock up for all the pasta. The animal crackers and circus animals are for Latte’s birthday “party” (immediate families) coming up. Ricotta is to continue my weird quest to have Latte try ALLLL the foods.
I forgot one of the reasons I hate the pickup is all the plastic they use I can get paper if I go in, but they bag EVERYTHING in plastic for pickup. And like, individual bags per department. So I literally had a grapefruit, in a produce bag, in a plastic bag. UGH.
Husband has the receipt, but all this came to $73.64
Not our usual sausage brand, we were going to try something new then they didn’t have it and substituted.
Basically, small round sourdough slices. They’re firmer and have smaller holes than a lot of sourdough. I have one slice every day with my breakfast. It’s like, the perfect size relative to my other breakfast components. And I like the brand. Very tangy and delightful.
Sounds like a cross between sourdough amd english muffins and a lovely breakfast! Too bad the brand hasn’t made it thos far south. (Or not, small amd local is usually more delish!)
I hate pick up from this vendor for this reason as well (but they’re the only option for pick up near me). However, they do always send an email asking for feedback. I’ve included a few other bits of info that would improve the order and pickup process, but I make sure to include the lack of bag options every time. I do not need a single tin of tomatoes placed in their own bag, that sadly has a giant rip in it so I can’t even use it as a litter bag. I would happily pay a small upcharge to end up with fewer horrid plastic bags.
It does not! It’s not filled either like the caramel one. It’s a very smooth chocolate. It’s probably my favorite of their flavors. They get the balance really good. It’s more of a sweeter mint than a peppery altoid type flavor. Doesn’t get up in your nose, which while I enjoy sometimes always makes me sneeze. And I hate spraying dark chocolate
I grabbed a holiday special bar from endangered species that is peppermint crunch. I haven’t opened it yet but I think that one will have chunks of mintiness!
I’m reading a friend’s book draft about immune health in babies & kids, and came across this: “Researchers from the American Gut Project found that regularly eating 30+ different types of plant foods per week created a more diverse microbiome than eating 10 or fewer different plant foods a week.”
So maybe it’s not weird, it’s super awesome preventative health!
Heyyyyy I’m game! That’s awesome
Lemme see, this week I know she’s had- kale, chard, spinach, broccoli, garlic, onion, tomatoes, cranberries, apples (three types lol), oranges, cilantro, raspberries, strawberries, bell peppers. For dried spices I know she’s had dill, pasley, oregano, thyme, a basil. Wheat products. Oats. Hmmm. Mixed nut butter which has like 8 nuts. Sunbutter. Peanut butter.
That’s just what I can remember! Hopefully she’ll have a healthy gut. Poor thing started out with a c section, so she’s starting out at a disadvantage in that camp! (Luckily avoided antibiotics so far though).
Oh duh. Yeah we have rice at least once a day usually and she has these corn and quinoa fritters I made and froze and we give her every once in a while. And her pancake mix has buckwheat in it
Our last TJs stock up and a veggie delivery. Plenty of frozies and some nice veg.
Now if only we could find Arborio rice. I want risotto!
ETA: Veggie box was around $35. Also, as much as I look at that grocery list and bemoan the amount of pre-made things in there, it’s also the reason I’m eating actual meals right now. Cooking has not been easy these last few weeks.
