The kids helped. And by helped I mean hindered.
Garden edging needs work. Some giant plank of wood from the previous owner. I might replace with pavers one day. Not today.

I have harvested 2 stalks of rhubarb, and stewed it with the strawberries that were in a mixed bag of frozen berries (separating out from the raspberries, blueberries and blackberries)

No garden this year…but some kind person left a bag full of rhubarb on our doorstep! I now have 8 c. frozen chopped rhubarb. Could use more, but it is what it is.

My dahlia tubers have been in for a month and some haven’t popped up yet. They all had green sprouts so they should be viable. How long do I wait until I try to gently dig them up?
what’s your weather been like? if it’s been cooler they may not come up until it warms up. but if it’s been a warm month, i would assume that they are not coming up.

It’s been warmer than average I think, like 75-85 the last few weeks. I’m confused because only 4 out of 28 in this location haven’t popped up yet. I’ll give them a bit longer then explore.

where’d you get your tubers from? i gotta say all the ones i got from swan island have come up, and several of the ones i got from longfield gardens have not.

We did a verge garden.
One side of the footpath gate is mostly native plants and the other side, which lines up with the vegetable patch, is herbs and some flowers.
I over-planted expecting things to get eaten by possums and probably stolen but so far so good.
Not much to see at the moment because it’s 90% tube stock and little seedlings I started but hopefully in a couple of months it will be looking good

We used to share a fence on one side that had slats which were easy to thread twine through to tie up our raspberries and one of our shrubs. Our neighbours replaced the fence over the winter with a flat slat version, so now I’ve put in some decking screws and tied the twine around that. Hoping it works out and we don’t need to buy hooks or something

I tried to look up how to prune roses and it seems like it matters what kind of rose. But I didn’t plant the rose and have no idea what kind it is. can anyone tell me based on the picture?

Most of them are from Eden brothers. The few that are not popping through yet are not the new ones I bought this year, they were saved over the winter. I inspected them and they all had tiny sprouts when I planted them. Just a mystery I guess, like most of my garden is. Google says they take 4-6 weeks so maybe I need to be patient. Ha.

What I got for you is that it doesn’t look like a climbing rose to me. Probably a grandiflora or hybrid tea but I am not an expert.
