Fancy tulips from Amsterdam seem to be coming up ok. I thought I had done a better job of spacing, but apparently not.
Wildflowers are starting to emerge here!
These are all wildflowers in an educational display at a hiking trailhead, and they’re so prettyyyy
Not a great pic but the petrol station has some gorgeous orange bunches so i bought one and split between 2 vases
are these mums? they are STUNNING
I don’t know how to take nice pictures but here are some of my wildflowers that are getting me through the horrors.
White violets and wild ginger
Trillium, grandiflorum I think
Midland shooting star
Blue eyed grass
Jack in the pulpit
Woodland phlox
White violets and bellwort (it’s supposed to be that droopy, it isn’t sad)
You have some really gorgeous natives. It’s going to be better and better every year.
I am not sure, I’m not totally familiar with some of the exotic (northern hemisphere) species, but they were just too pretty to walk past!
I also picked up these at the local grocery store, full plants so hopefully I can keep them alive and grow them nice and big!
Pink poppies make me weak in the knees.
The giant peach colored flower is a mum. The one on its left is a carnation. The ones in the other vase are white mums, a carnation, a cream rose. It appears to me that the greenery is not part of these flowers.
These fringe tulips are so much fun! I love fancy tulips. I don’t grow them because the squirrels just steal them or the deer eat them, but I enjoy seeing other people’s photos. I do grow a couple species tulips that come out so early the deer haven’t figured out they exist yet
Here are my unruly, flopping all over the place, perennial sweet peas. When compared to Madge’s tidy annual sweet peas they are a mess. But they are beautiful, and I’m letting them go wherever they want to go this year because I have many empty spaces to fill in a new flower bed in front of our house.
But that is just for the year 2025, next year they will see a day of reckoning.
perennial sweet peas, you say??
i never heard of such a thing!
My mom has them, they’re quite messy/invasive if you don’t control them. She did not, and it’s a big mess.
