Flowers! 🌺 🌷 🌸 🌹

Perennial Scabiosa. I should have other colors of annual ones too.

Why do some of my Zinnias look like this? I assume it’s bugs. :sob: is there any kind of spray I should use?

This annual flower thing is way harder than the perennials I’ve grown for years.

No ideas here but the same thing happened to ours! My best guess is earwigs, which we have a lot of.

I have so many earwigs. I see that Diatomaceous Earth supposedly kills them, but haven’t researched it yet. And of course it might be too late now to save them.

i had one that was a little bit chomped but not that bad

i snipped off the bitten leaves and it recovered — could be worth a try! zinnias are pretty tough. DE sounds like a good idea, too.

Among the last blooms for the year.

What is this bug? They seem to especially like daylilies. They don’t seem to be damaging them though which is a nice change from all the other asshole wildlife around here.

Maybe a lily beetle? But those are usually red and yours don’t look red

Google lens says Anomala orientalis if you want to compare to that

also a cute little baby bouquet… decided to bring a zinnia in because it would just be eaten by earwigs outside
