Do the thing you've been putting off!

I chopped up a bunch of vegetables and mushrooms so I could make a quick scramble tomorrow. To put them away, I had to clear out a bunch of gross produce from the drawer and wash the drawer off. No more leaving produce to be gross! (It was mostly foraged/leftovers, but still wasteful.)

Donations are now at the thrift store! It only took a month. I hope I donā€™t have anything else to donate for a long time .

I organized my rocks.

We pulled out some overgrown bushes earlier this fall and there were random rocks all over. They may have been part of some design a long time ago but they donā€™t make sense for our new landscaping. After we dug them up we left them in random piles near where we found them. Tonight I finally put all the rocks in a pile in the back yard, and eventually weā€™ll use them as the border of a garden bed around a tree.

One of the reasons I moved them tonight is we have a wheelbarrow and some other yard tools on loan from my parents but we need to return it soon so we can get our garage back. So returning everything is the next project.

I hung two heavy duty command hooks on the back of the bedroom door. Now our dressing robes live on the hooks, not the floor, and our bedroom looks much tidier  Iā€™d only been planning to do this for months and I donā€™t know why I put it off - it was easy!

I bought 1.2 kg of yarn to make bath goodies for everyoneā€™s christmas presents!

And promptly realised I forgot some people when picking colours. Sigh. Pretty sure I will have enough anyway. If notā€¦ Iā€™ll buy more in November.

I did a few things:

  • Hired a landscaper and booked a site visit
  • Emailed a company about my wireless keyboard failing to pair to the computer

I emailed two different people to see if we can refinance our house to a lower interest rate. Iā€™m not sure if it will make sense but now we can get actual numbers and make an informed decision instead of just not doing it because we donā€™t want to take the time to find out.

I sewed a patch on my backpack and mended a cardigan!

I sorted out the stuff in the bottom of my wardrobe pending finding somewhere to donate a large bag of zines to.

I did two financials adulting things yesterday that will hopefully lead to ā€œset it and forget itā€ type long term benefits. Theyā€™re not complete yet but Iā€™m waiting on other people for the next steps.

I sent returns back to Asos. They are out of the return-for-money window, but are still within the return-for-credit window.

Stupid annual training finished. Ran the videos with the sound off, got every question right anyway because itā€™s all so screamingly obvious any reasonable seven year old could do it without preparation. But you canā€™t get to the questions without running the videos Because.

Iā€™d been driving around with this bookshelf in the back of my car all week. It was up for grabs at my morning school so I took it for use at my afternoon school, but everytime I arrived here I didnā€™t feel like lugging it in. Itā€™s not very heavy but itā€™s bulky and my classroom is so far from the parking lot and Iā€™m such a whiner. But I finally did it!

I cleaned the grill part of my bbq. It looks like I could cook edible food on it now! Next up is cleaning the case of the bbq.

Finally (after 1+ years) cut & sewed the lining to my own wool jacket. Yay for wearing it and not having the wool catch on my clothing!

I found time to cut and dye my hair today.
I donā€™t even know if it looks good/right (pending air drying), but I certainly feel more human and it was my first proper shower inā€¦ 7-10 days or so. :heavy_check_mark:
Iā€™ve needed a haircut for weeks.

Moved a giant pickup load of stuff and at least halfway cleaned grad school apartment. One more trip required once my abbreviated workweek is done, but now it doesnā€™t matter if itā€™s raining because we can get everything else in my jeep.
