I sewed all the patches I’ve been hoarding for years onto the jacket I bought for patches!
I worked on my grad school application. I found it annoying, but I trudged on. I wish I could say it was finished but I still have to write my statement of purpose and I have to get recommendation letters. Well, at least I’m a lot closer.
Grad school applications are terrible. Good work- you are indeed closer!
Put up command hooks on the back of Ewok’s bedroom door for his backpack and coat, and the back of the bathroom door for hanging a spare towel.

Updated my website, finally!

Also, tore down the 30 yard cable that’s been spooled up around my back porch since I moved in. The power company accidentally cut it when they were trimming a tree, and I don’t use cable… whoever eventually buys this house from me would need a new cable anyways, so… away goes that eyesore. Real PITA, tacked to the house in like 11 different spots. Bleh. It is done.
I sent an email to the psychologist I want to try. Now to await a response.
Posted two bulky items for sale! I had been putting this off for months.
As per the thread title, I generally put things off and then have an explosion of “get’r done” where I do a bunch of stuff and then slowly sink back into procrastination.
This week:
-
I hung the solar motion sensor light I’ve had sitting on the back table for weeks.
-
I fixed my slumpy gutter so now it doesn’t pour down directly into the path of where the door opens. This has been this way since I moved in.
-
I painted about 1/3 of my sunporch, which has been an ongoing dragged out project. I’m still counting 1/3 as a victory.
Since husband is home and not working for the moment, he’s finishing a backlog of projects i couldn’t do.** This week he finally put up the last of our planned ceiling fans (in the dog’s bedroom). The fan had been taking up space in our closet for 3 years. Then he did the tile on our tub surround. The boxed tile had been taking up space in the bathroom floor for 2 years.
** Fan was too heavy for me to hold over my head on a ladder, and while I could have done the tile work, it would have been fugly instead of his lovely job- I just lack the skill (and maybe the patience).
The big living room rug had worked its way out from under the sectional and all the way over to the hearth. I moved couches, swept the floor, moved the rug and couches back. Ahhhh.
Did a bunch of rebranding today for my consulting business. And even though I had a full on “I DONT WANNA” moment when H was pushing me to do it, as predicted, it was a good move.
I had a toll violation notice sitting on my desk for two weeks. I finally picked it up yesterday to just pay it, decided to contest it (I have a toll transponder in my car but it just didn’t register for some reason), and got it immediately waived online.
$0.35 instead of the $25 it was requesting before I contested it.
Ok cool.
Re blocked my monstrous sweater. It’s now drying on the rack. May still need to shave it. But it’s started!
I have a few backlog “do the thing” things from the last week or so.
-
Replaced the battery in my car key fob, probably like a day before it was going to be all the way dead. I waited tooooooo long.
-
Smashed up the weird plastic pole that was in my back yard that needed relocated to like the middle of my yard (for like three weeks) when the fence was done. It was 12ft, so needed smashed up to fit in the trash can.
-
Drug an old christmas tree corpse out from behind my shed (thanks a lot prior homeowner) and tried to smash it into my trash bin. We will see if they take it. It’s way too dry and spindly to burn in a bonfire safely.
Contacted possible babysitters.
Today I made a phone call to straighten out an erroneous medical bill.
Bonus: while I was waiting on hold I took care of some financial stuff online that I’d also been putting off.
Yesterday - called tech support for work to get a log in and password updated - it only took them 45 minutes to get it sorted - this has only been put off 5 weeks.
Today - going to get set up with a new doctor since mine is retiring and non of the doctors at her clinic are taking her patients. They are hoping to have a new doctor replace her, but based on the shortage I’m trying to get ahead. This will require leaving the house today because I have to go fill out forms, then they will call me to set up an appointment. Kinda annoying. But at least I know I’m getting a doctor quickly.
I did the dishes AND took out recycling
8 months in, I figured out how to get a second monitor at work so I’m not just dealing with a small laptop screen and it was delivered 2 working days later.
