Do the thing you've been putting off!

Update: answer was “maybe”. Here’s a lesson in not putting things off for so long. It would have been “yes” if I’d sent that $%^&^ email a month ago. There’s still a path to yes, but I now have a lot to do this week to make it happen.

Contacted a lawyer about estate planning!

I activated my FSA card so I could pay some medical bills with what feels like free money. I know it’s actually my money but since it never makes it to my regular bank account it feels like Monopoly money.

I APPLIED FOR MY PROFESSIONAL LICENSE IN MY NEW STATE. I’ve just had a massive anxiety and insecurity block about it for some reason. Imposter syndrome BS since I haven’t worked in a while. It took like 30 min. DONE.

I got my oil change–drive through and with Apple Pay (had to set up my account). I just stayed in my car and read a book. Everyone was wearing masks. It was good.

I made a flu shot appointment! It’s a fancy drive-thru appointment, even - so bougie

I did a thing I had been putting off for YEARS and called to get access to a retirement account from an old job where I had a bit of money sitting in a money market account, and actually invested it!

Changed my bank details with payroll. Put it off for ages because it involved having to get the payroll team’s help. Then it was quick and easy. Woot!

Some motivation to get on those to do lists?

Emailed some theater people letting them know I’m available for work, in the unlikely chance it’s available. I probably should have done this 2 months ago :grimacing:

Booked my bunny in for his (overdue…) vaccination and nail clip.

Sent off the refi paperwork, finally! As a bonus we’re moving our mortgage from [big bank] to a credit union.

Found a new groomer and got my dogs nails cut. No hate on using a groomer please, she’s really difficult.

I use my vet for nail trims even though it’s covid rules and even though I worked in veterinary medicine for a bazillion years and have succesfully trimmed probably 5000 foots on animals who were trying everything in their power to get away.

We make choices based on what’s the best for us at that time, that’s all.

Ok quick math on my nail trimming history shows at least 62,000 individual feet successfully trimmed.

I still take my dog to the vet.

Made an optometrist appointment! Haven’t had one in a couple of years and my glasses are starting to peel so much it’s hard to see out of them…

FINALLY hung the bathroom mirror we bought a few months ago. It had been sitting in a box on the floor and it replaced a very sad one that wasn’t hung up either. Happy day!

Messaged a Buy Nothing recipient to tell her since she’d failed to turn up for a third time, I’d choose a new recipient. My message was perfectly polite but it still felt gross to have to send something like that.

She sent a very polite response. I still wouldn’t bother giving to her again (I need items to actually leave my house…) but I approve of her good manners.

Tax efficient rebalancing accomplished.

On the down side, that is the last of the no-cost tax efficient options. On the plus side, that is squarely in the “nice problem to have” side of things.

It would have been nice had TD actually corrected that page in easyweb to show the correct value (investments in that fund) instead of the total value of all the investments in that account. I think we called in about that about a year ago. I guess most people just don’t rebalance on their own.
