Covid-19 discussion

I think that’s the raw case count.

MA peaked at 396/100k per day.

Yeah, raw. We only have a population of 3.6 million. Our peak (reported on covidactnow, it’s slightly different on the state site) was 285.5/100k on Jan 10. What’s amazing is that the 2021 peak was on Jan 13 (about 1/3 of it though, lol).

ETA: But also, it was 10k for the 7-day average on Jan 10. The actual peak shown was higher at 31.4k on that day. BUT since they don’t report on the weekends Mondays (and Tuesday, which are usually much worse on the state site because of when things get reported and when test results are available (I guess)) are always skewed, and ~10k is probably around accurate because of it.

Cool. Already had one friend imply we’re careless and that’s how we got Covid. This friend works in healthcare and has her son in daycare, and regularly has play dates with her own neighbors. And they do theirs inside. And they’ve still been taking vacations during the pandemic. But yeah, our relative fucking isolation was so very careless. :unamused:

She’s socially a fucking idiot. Unfortunately I know this but still manage to sometimes be surprised by it. There’s a reason there was a full decade we didn’t speak though :grimacing:

YIKES. Some people just really need for every undesirable outcome to be someone’s fault, and preventable, because if bad things aren’t preventable than a bad thing could happen to THEM which is obviously impossible…

…oh.
Ours is 1,700 per 100k this week.

Edit: my state is 4K/100K apparently. (Last two weeks)

Yay…

How do I find the per 100k number for my state? Or county? I’m not looking in the right place

New York Times is tracking it for everywhere they can.

I use Covid act now which you can look at state, county or metro area (for everywhere but Idaho)

Huh. NYT says Michigan is only at 203 per 100k. Seems downright good compared to you all.

My county is 176, but up 112% in 2 weeks

My county is only 43% fully vaxxed. :-1:t2:

I just googled my county and Covid and went to their public health page.
