We are starting the daycare hunt for enrollment in a few months. Does anybody know (or have personal experience with) If I can ask about staff being vaccinated or does that get into privacy issues?

You can ask, but thereās no guarantee they would answer. I feel like if I ran a daycare and my staff was all vaccinated I would be plastering that information EVERYWHERE.

I agree with @Marcela. Definitely ask, but if they are vaccinated, theyāll probably be super up front telling you.
Our daycare has been keeping everyone who is enrolled updated as they get new info/protocols from the state, and let us know the day they started getting vaccinated. Theyāve got COVID protocols plastered all over their website and check-in platform, as well as on the front door. Parents have to drop their kids off at the front door and leave lunches/gear in a rolling cart to be brought inside later, we arenāt even allowed inside right now.

Iām so freaked out at the idea of dropping Meowlet off at daycare without being able to go in there with him. He will be so scared. I hope daycares are back to normal by summer.

Yes itās going to be roughā¦ I already know it. Iām planning on taking a week off work to slowly ease him into it (just a few hours at first), and so I can sit home and cry after I drop him off. (Kidding not kidding)

Smokers qualify for a vaccine in Iowa on Monday.
How much smoking do you think I have to do?
Oh wait- it looks like overweight, not only obese BMIās also qualify. So I think I might be eligible by a few pounds. (Edit: Maybe not? That may have just been one reporterās interpretationā¦ The actual vaccine website for the state has almost no information at all.)
Also to note, " use of other immune weakening medicines" is on the list, not just cancer and transplant, so thatās good for people. And Iām annoyed because Downs Syndrome is on the list, but not the huge number of similiar chromosomal abnormalities that cause massive issues. I am just continually annoyed that Downs Syndrome seems to be the only chromosomal abnormality that is ever recognized at large.

CVS, Publix and Walgreens will offer vaccines to all daycare workers and k-12 teachers, not just the 50 and over ones that the Florida governor tried to limit it to. College professors are not included in either grouping.

In Michigan my 25yo niece got both of her shots already, there was no age limit for teachers. My brother is a professor and was not eligible, but got through because he coaches a high school tennis team. The rules make no sense when college students are out doing way more questionable stuff than younger people are.

I had my second dose of Pfizer on Wednesday at 11. By 6pm I had a massive headache. By 11pm I had the chills so bad that I was shaking uncontrollably despite being under a electric blanket on high and 3 blankets. I had difficulty getting up to get 3 more blankets. Thursday I slept around the clock except to eat and take the dogs out. Friday still had the headache and was exhausted. Today I went out shopping for 2 hours and then lunch and needed a nap. My headache is finally gone. At least I know it worked.

My brother was sick for 5 days and my sister got it today and is sick. Something about our family 
. Better than getting the virus. All 3 of us have some type of respiratory issue so getting the virus might have killed us.

I had a pretty shitty experience with my second dose of moderna, but Iām with you: way better than getting covid. Hope everything passes quickly for your family.
