Used Sunday to pick up and finish on goal.
And now that I have a kitchen table again, Iām going to aim for every breakfast without a screen, and at least two lunches a week.

Went for a walk every day except yesterday which was a family get together and I was too exhausted afterwards to go out again (plus it was raining). Two friend catch ups this week.
If weāre being generous again with what counts as a meal, then yes I made three meals this week.
I did not make banana bread, because my husband keeps making muffins.
I did not do as much ritual and meditation as planned this past week - one less, actually, because it was a discombobulated week. Still on track for my total # of times, though, because the week before had so much of it.
Starting today off right by doing the thing, though.
Soooo, we decided to make this more challenging for us, I guess. I decided to place an order from our local food hub (kind of expensive) after attending a virtual conference that talked a lot about supporting local and sustainability. We had plans to go to Trader Joeās for the first time since quarantine, so we still did that. We split most of the remaining grocery budget and bought treats for ourselves. We are trying not to buy anything for the rest of the month except really small things, like a head of garlic or something like that. Itās kind of exciting.
Groceries: $247.92/$250.00
As I stated earlier last week, I gave myself a pass. But on the days I was feeling not-sick, I nailed it.
I did a CPE hour last week, and I did it on Friday instead of waiting until Saturday. Stretch goal: complete a CPE by Thursday!
Andā¦3/4. At least Iām consistent?
Week 1: 5 hours (plus some other stuff)
Week 2: 12.5 hours (it starting to seem like there may be enough material for a 5-day course!)
Week 3: 5 hours (plus some other ridiculousnessā¦)
Finished Chapters 9, 10, 12, & 14. This covered plugins, WMS/WFS, GRASS, and a run through of a forestry application that introduced some additional tools. Skipped Chapter 11 (QGIS Server) as my new external drive has not arrived yet so I canāt (donāt want to) install a server on the old desktop until I clean it. Skipped Chapter 13 as it was just an āassessmentā doing the same sorts of things but using āyour own dataā, and I donāt want to spend the time just yet looking for data to work on a āprojectā that is meaningless to me. And as with the end of Chapter 8 that I skipped, it is the type of analysis I have done probably hundreds of times in ArcGIS Desktop, so itās just learning/remembering how to us this interface that is the challenge.
Coming up is PostgreSQL (databases), PostGIS (spatial databases), the processing framework, and then using spatial databases (including PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and SpatiaLite). I might have to skip all the database until I can install database software on the old desktop, same as the section on QGIS Server! I guess I will have to see how long it takes me to go through the processing framework section.
I might also finish the RStudio course I started⦠6 months ago? I think I only have one chapter leftā¦
Maybe also look more into Qt form customization and the Overpass API (Open Street Map).
I also spent probably literally 10 hours researching stuff on Arduino, DIY weather stations, and data scraping. And bought some expensive stuff that has not arrived yet (boooo).
Still havenāt figured out the portfolio/website issue.
Until last weekend I was doing great on tracking my food costs. I have two receipts from this weekend (Costco and King Soopers) that I need to upload. So far we are doing REALLY well this month on our food spending - even it if seems high to others, it is a decrease compared to every other month this year! Hopefully we can keep this up until the end of the month.
Groceries: $220.52
Restaurants: $196.42
Coffee: $28.23
Total: $445.17
Quick update. I have finalized the renewal of LGās file. I was sick last week and didnāt do anything so Iām tackling the nationality application.
every meal so far - 5/5
This likely will not last, but it is a good reminder that it is possible now that I have a kitchen table and want to get away from my desk.
Still at 2ā¦the same 2 tasks. But I didnāt add any more to the late queue!
Hit my goal this week. Barely. I was 7 minutes short and then added a training walk of 34 minutes that was a mix of stuff that should count and stuff that shouldnāt.
Iāll take it. I lost several days because Muppet had minor injury and is on some activity restriction and then wound up getting sedation (and took an extra day to not be super snoozy). Iām glad I made my goal, even if it was just barely and technically so.
Week 3?
no ordering take-out / doing so good and my husband is now on board and Iām so happyyyy
no impulse buying interior design baubles + stretch goal: sell more of the stuff I donāt use in the back of my closet on fb marketplace/donate it - joined my local ābuy nothing groupā to both give away and get things and itās awesome!
Stay on track with saving / stick with the budget and try to build up to my month buffer! month buffer is gradually cutting down as my invoices are going unpaid (grr) but I guess thatās what itās for! budgeting going good!
Week 1 (Sep 1-7) check in: one success of two goals.
Movement:Success! I had some lazy days last week, but thanks to this goal I went for a four mile walk Monday evening and ended the week at 310 minutes.
I have scheduled activities 3 days in week 2 (one kayaking (already done) and 2 swimming) which should total 165 minutes, so I still need to plan the other half of my movement for the week. Probably some bicycling and maybe a walk.
Schoolwork: Not a success. I didnāt think Iād get to 5 last week since I started a day late (so only 6 days to work with), but I think I only had two days where I did a whole hour of work and two more days where I did work but not enough to count. I have some resources now I didnāt have then, though, so no excuses for week 2!
Week 2 (Sep 8-14)
Movement: Blew this one out of the water, with intentional movement every day totaling 479 minutes (8 hours) for the week. Biking, swimming, walking, and kayaking.
Schoolwork: Yeah, itās a good thing Iām meeting one of my goals. I did improve over week 1, with schoolwork done 3 days in week 2. Onward!
Week 3 (Sep 15-21)
319 minutes. This is the first week I havenāt met my stretch goal. The pool closed for the season so I only got in one day of swimming and I bailed on kayaking both days Iād planned to go (one for time management issues, the other for feeling poorly). So Iām actually pleased I met the base goal.
Finally, a win here! Barely (I stayed up 1/2 hour past a reasonable bedtime to get my hour in for the day on Sep 21), but Iāll take it.
In total amount of time, I spent longer on school (8h 25m) than exercise (5h 19m), for the first time. Iām upping the goal for week 4. In addition to an hour per day x5 of schoolwork, I want to do a total of 15h for the week. This is going to be tough since I only did an hour yesterday and will be less than 2h today.
After uploading weekend receipts for groceries and eating out, we are not doing so well this month
Mr E and I are having a discussion this morning about how high our total food costs have been (for every month this year!) and we are putting together a plan for October.
Groceries: $393.63
Restaurants: $281.14
Coffee: $56.46
Total: $731.23
Still logging on Myfitnesspal. Also made it through the next week without overdrawn-ness. Also checking banking apps every day. Sometimes more than once. Good things.
Thatās freaking awesome! Congrats on the no overdraws!
I failed, like completely

Well there is a weekend binge thing coming up to meet the deadline.
Nothing would be ever done without the last minute ā¦
Why am I effizient at work but not on these goals?
