Well, 3/4 again. This time with ash and snow. Apparently I need to find more things I can do inside.
I hit my target this week. Yay! I had to shift some things around to avoid being outside.
Total time working on project came in at 2 hours 50 minutes. 15 minutes of that is suspect (sort of warm-up/tangential), so I was glad to clear my goal with extra room to spare.
100%
Walk every day and saw two friends this week.
Being kind to myself - last week was a āvacationā week. For the most part I did no paid work, and did very little of anything besides hang out with the cat. I did use the fancy lotions, and I used a hair oil tester that I LOVE and now I want it. I told SO my hair felt amazing and he said it must be expensive LOL he knows me well. I may end up buying it because I loved it (kerastase elixer). I also went to the doctor to take care of myself to feel better.
Yesterday I said yes to everyone and was so happy I saw people! I went for a walk and talk on the phone with a work friend for over a hour, and just as I got home another friend asked about walking that I hadnāt seen since June, so I threw in a snack and went tot meet her, and then as I was coming home the neighbour asked if I wanted to do a short walk and I said yes. 23,000 steps accomplished for the day of which 20,000 was above.
In addition to everyone elseās suggestions, if the disconnect is not that you dislike fruit when you try it, but just that you forget to try it⦠donāt leave it all in the fridge. Citrus lasts a while. Apples will be good for a few days out of the fridge. Stone fruit might be underripe when you buy it and stay underripe because itās still in the fridge!
So keep a few pieces out on your kitchen counter or table. Buy a pretty basket to display it in. Make sure the fruit is right where you go when youāre getting your breakfast together or grabbing a snack. If itās right in front of you and itās so pretty you canāt resist, maybe youāll just eat it!
I feel seen.
I will take some of these grapes out of the fridge.
I mean, I definitely need to take my own advice and get the ground cherries out of the fridge
I avoid this by prepping the fruit as soon as I buy it. When I unload the groceries it goes on the counter in a very obnoxious place and I have to wash / cut up / etc before it can go into the fridge. For things like grapes I wash them and pull them off the stems and put into individual serving mason jars. For watermelon it gets cup up and put into individual serving containers. For things like apples it just gets washed, dried, and put away. I am much more likely to grab a mason jar of grapes to eat as a snack when Iām hungry, than pull out the bag, wash them, pull them off the stems, etc.
Week 2 progress - I am still tracking everything, although I have a receipt from Sprouts the other day that I still need to input into my spreadsheet. Weāve done terrible at eating out, primarily because I keep forgetting to thaw out the meat that is planned for dinner, until time to make dinner and then I have to go get takeout because there isnāt time to thaw meat + cook it. Then there was a day when Mr E did thaw out the meat but I was too exhausted to cook at the end of the day.
Whelp, looks like Iām also backing out of this challenge. Itās mostly due to various IT shenanigans making our repository basically inaccessible for at least a week, but also because 2.5 hours/week is turning me into a sulky child NGL
Thirded⦠Bleh
The government money just came in. And I didnāt go overdrawn in the month since the last lot, or even close. Now I just need to see out the rest of September.
Also still logged in MfP every day. Almost didnāt yesterday as Iād eaten a ridonculous amount, but hey, it is what it is.
Onwards!
I was doing super great until Monday, when I was sick. I almost made my goal Wednesdays and then Wednesday evening I got EVEN MORE SICK.
Basically Iām letting myself off the hook for this week because Iām an invalid.
I ordered a ring fit and Iām hoping I feel good enough to play it a little bit this weekend.
Week 1 (Sep 1-7)
Week 1 (Sep 1-7) check in: one success of two goals.
Movement:Success! I had some lazy days last week, but thanks to this goal I went for a four mile walk Monday evening and ended the week at 310 minutes.
I have scheduled activities 3 days in week 2 (one kayaking (already done) and 2 swimming) which should total 165 minutes, so I still need to plan the other half of my movement for the week. Probably some bicycling and maybe a walk.
Schoolwork: Not a success. I didnāt think Iād get to 5 last week since I started a day late (so only 6 days to work with), but I think I only had two days where I did a whole hour of work and two more days where I did work but not enough to count. I have some resources now I didnāt have then, though, so no excuses for week 2!
Week 2 (Sep 8-14)
Blew this one out of the water, with intentional movement every day totaling 479 minutes (8 hours) for the week. Biking, swimming, walking, and kayaking.
Yeah, itās a good thing Iām meeting one of my goals. I did improve over week 1, with schoolwork done 3 days in week 2. Onward!
Expect to finish a section this week. As much as can be without data from the future, anyway. Calling it a win.
I am not trending well this week. Silly busy working through lunch and crashing in front of tv for dinner.
This weekend the workspace gets moved out of the kitchen.
I did the thing, and then I did two more sections. They hardly count since they were super short. But still.
Made it from Govt. money to Govt. money. Yay! Yes a large chunk of that money has gone back out of my account now, but that means the bulk of the bills are paid. And with the foodbank I now have a reliable source of food (especially with that voucher for the grocers. The fruit n veg has been amaaaazing). Website help is incoming for the business, and heās going to help support me with some alternative, inexpensive, software too. Lastly I am still doggedly logging everything I eat in Myfitnesspal. Onwards!
A little late to updating, sorry! Iāve continued to track in the Ate app. Most of the week was on track, including Friday and Saturday which I had off as part of a long weekend. Yesterday was my birthday and I somewhat deliberately only ate biscuits, pizza, beer, and cake. We have leftover cake so Iām sure cake will be a part of some meals the first half of this week, but hopefully so also will vegetables!
