I did more of my un-challenge! Property taxes paid, vehicle registration renewed.

I just paid a $30 online payment fee to not get Covid paying my taxes (and not get a lein; the tax office is closed due to Covid anyway). This irks me, but on the bright side I donā€™t have Covid.

  • Iā€™ve located my winter stuff and some of husbandā€™s winter stuff. No idea where any of his gloves/mittens went, but I looked where they should be and heā€™s responsible for finding or replacing them if he wants warm hands this winter. I set up an organizer that fits smaller hats and mittens but need to come up with a plan for larger hats and scarves still.
  • Boot tray sorted.
  • No progress on coats.

This process has also caused me to reorganize and clean some other spaces as I move things around, which is a nice bonus.

Week 1 update:
Brain dump house list was created in a google doc on my phone. The next step is to transfer it into Excel on my husbandā€™s computer so I can add categories.

TV: One item on the list may even get done today! A new tp holder was ordered earlier this week and delivered this afternoon, so all that remains is to install it! I will be so happy to let go of the free-standing TP holder.

Week one - overall goal accomplished :white_check_mark:

Food, body stuff
  • leave home 6/7 days a week - YES, 7/7
  • strength-building workout once a week - YES, kettlebell workout yesterday
  • limit 3 standard alcoholic drinks a week - YES, 1 alcoholic drink this week
  • limit 3 treats a week - NOPE, this is the 1/5 things I didnā€™t make this week.
  • 7 hours of sleep 4/7 nights a week - YES, 5/7 nights this week

So I made 4/5 of my goals, which was the achievable overall goal I was hoping for. I tried hard on all of them, all of them took effort. Iā€™m trying to be okay with how much comfort eating Iā€™m still doing, because Iā€™m aware I do actually need the comfort.

Iā€™m late to the party but decided :wastebasket::fire:December is something I want to do!

  • Check in daily with Habitica
  • Move my body daily (walks, yoga, resistance band exercises, etc)
  • Put in my resignation notice at work
  • Find a new home for old handheld games

ETA: Week 1:

  • Started using Habitica this week and have checked in daily.
  • Have gone on a walk every day except yesterday, when I did some gentle yoga instead.
  • Rediscovered box with old Nintendo DS and games (mostly Pokemon). My siblings are too old for these (they have all their own updated gaming devices). Iā€™ll reach out to my aunt first and see if my cousins (ages 9 & 10) want them.

I can almost cross this off my list-I finished going through my will, advanced healthcare directive, and financial power of attorney with mr krmit, asked all relevant parties to be my executor and backup executor, and now all I have to do is print everything out and this dumpster fire is extinguished.

Actually signing and making it legal will have to wait until itā€™s less covidy outside.

I worked on my dumpster fire that is my floors a little yesterday.

At this point, Iā€™m like, 90% convinced I wonā€™t get done by the end of the year. Finishing the first floor was supposed to be pre-December completion and itā€™s not done yetā€¦

However I do have an extra ā€œweekendā€ essentially before the end of the year because Iā€™m taking the 2 days before NY off?

I might ask for an extensionā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue:

1- Appointment is in a couple hours!
2- emailed, replied, accepted! Now I need to figure out how to tell the rest of the family without creating DRAMA.
3- no progress on this
4- I finished one book, Iā€™m 50% on another. One and a half left.

Make the will, and then you wonā€™t have to tell them, and we all certainly hope they never find out the obvious way.

When we did this we did not specifically tell family (except for the people involved and the person who will be the executor) but a couple years later I was talking end of life stuff with my mom and she verified that Mr. Meer and I have wills and who do we have set up as Kiddoā€™s guardian. So I agree with not telling proactively but it would be good to have some sort of response that youā€™re both on board with, especially if thereā€™s likely to be Drama.

A couple things:
-I think they want to be able to talk freely about it without accidentally revealing something/secrets/etc
-my dads former coworker was gonna do the Will for free for us, we were just going to have him pass along info etc. So it would be an awkward changing plans/clearly hiding stuff/etc etc
