Honestly my wrist surgeries are the least of it, I have RA in my wrists so they sucked way before I even added metal to the mix.
Week 2 (8/8 - 8/14) result: 406 minutes.
I’d reached my weekly stretch goal by Monday, then added a bike ride today. This was the end of easy mode, though. I have a big deadline this week which will keep me in front of my screen far too long if I don’t prioritize movement.
Okay. Did 5 pushups with (nearly) full range of motion. First was a real one on my toes but the rest were on knees. Wrist hurt considerably as I finished (maybe it’s tendons in my hand and fingers? Not sure) but a lot better now, 15 mins later. Still some trouble gripping, though. But this is much better than the hands flat version I was doing before. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Honestly it kind of feels like cheating to count my reread of The Last Battle, but hey, I’m 99% sure I’m going to meet my goal…
Week two went well. I did four bike rides (goal is three) and pushups every day. Pushups are marginally less awful this week and the bike rides are nicer because the hight temps have gone down a few degrees. I can’t wait until September and actual cooler weather.

Hmm the month is half over and I’m not halfway through…
declaring failure on this. I’m just spending too much time on a couch trying to RICE or heat my knee.
Maybe I should take a page (ha!) from Matisse instead of feeling like there is nothing to take photos of within my limited space. Or else set up still life motifs.
This week I ran 50.3 miles, which is right on track. Woody only did 3 workout sessions. I did 4 City Fit Girls strength workouts which is one extra.
For French I did Duolingo every day, about the same pace as last week. Most of my listening was at the beginning of the week – I listened to I think 2 podcast episodes and a little over two hours of the first part of Book 2 of Les Miserables… had to keep rewinding because that’s the Waterloo bit and it turns out I’m not so great at following historical battles in French yet! I mostly listened to podcasts in English later in the week because it’s been raining a ton, and I like to be able to leave my phone in a bag in my backpack when it’s wet, which means I can’t rewind and relisten if I miss something. Still, my only explicit goal is to do Duolingo daily and to track what else I do, so I’m doing fine there.
Week 1
- Yardwork: 7 hours
- Dollars Spent on Groceries: $13 (but that will change wildly as we need to replace a whole bunch that spoiled in the outage)
Week 2
- Yardwork: 13 hours
- Dollars Spent on Groceries: $175
Datacamp exercises - 26 -
Week day lunches - 5(?) what even is lunch actually? Half a chocolate muffin? Handful of tatziki triscuits?
Those are lunch. If you eat between 10:30 and 4 pm it’s lunch. (Mr Darling would say snacks are not lunch but he’s wrong)

Week 2:
Yoga – literally none and I am in pain
Chores – literally none
I think there was a third thing I can’t recall – none
I ate 8 tomatoes for breakfast (cherry)
Did not make progress on the list this weekend because my body needed something different. There’s always next weekend!
