2020 BINGO -- A choose-your-own-goals challenge

At the beginning of the year I thought that the middle row would be the hardest to complete as I have been putting those jobs off for ages, but the pandemic kinda helped me with those.

The pandemic will probably stop me doing some things, such as

  • Host a family dinner
  • See whale sharks in the wild
  • Go on 10 dates
  • Book Holiday to Canada
  • Increase net worth by $60k

But we will see how it goes

Congratulations!

Maybe tomorrow I will check in and see if I’ve made any progress/what has been thwarted by the pandemic and I need to change.

Congrats!!! Would you like to claim a prize?

@Greyweld I forgot about the prizes!

I am going to go with Tarot Reading because I have never had one

Slowly moving along…

Still haven’t decided what I’m going to do with the greyed out squares, but there’s still 8 months left to figure it out.

Making progress! May need to redo some goals later in the year, but haven’t changed anything so far. Since my last update I’ve memorized Howie’s phone number and took a walk in the neighborhood woods. There are some that I could technically cross off but they don’t FEEL done, so I’m not crossing them off yet (like I tried a minor, easy new recipe or did something small that was nice).

I managed 30 seconds in crow pose so there’s hope I’ll be able to get BINGO sooner than I thought

I was filling out the goals progress portion of my journal and realized I got BINGO!

Row G -

  • Plant 2 fruit trees
  • Start seeds indoors
  • Make Gardening Calendar
  • Eat a meal in the garden
  • Eat a home grown salad

Ummm I would love one of the hand bound journals from @CalBal but I suspect being in moving mode will impede that and I will choose something else if needed.

@Greyweld if you are willing to wait like a month I would be happy to!!! All my supplies are in a U-Box somewhere in the middle of the country right now. :joy: Also, hooray!

I finished Puglet’s blanket lest night. He seems to like it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’ve got crow pose up to 40 seconds

Half marthon was cancelled :disappointed: but hoping to sign up and be able to run one in September.

On the look out for a bike trailer for puglet and then we can take him on a nice bike ride on the minuteman trail since the weather is starting to get nice.

Here’s my updated card. I’ve made progress on a lot of the items but I’m not sure how to quantify it all so I’m just waiting until I have them finished to mark them off. And I guess I have created a filing system, but I still have plenty of filing to do, so I’m not counting it yet.

And uh… hopefully it’s OK that I refilled my emergency fund, and then promptly (within a couple of months) had to use it again. Technically I did refill it, it’s just not full anymore!

Finish lace scarf Finish glass display Hike 4 times Finish editing book 7 Sew a garment
Mend 3 things from mending pile Finish writing book 14 Organize clothes Make seitan Sew patches on winter coat
Make pizza 4 times Sort & store giveaway baby clothing FREE SPACE Make bread 6 times Get yarn organized and put away
Make bagels 4 times 2 days in a row with no added sugar Refill emergency fund Knit a garment Bike ride 4 times
Read 10 books I owned before 2019 See a physical therapist for feet Touch up paint in house Reach Weathertop Create a filing system

End of month checkin, although not too interesting…I replaced one of my not-likely-to-happen-given-covid items with something I started working on when stay-at-home started (working through Great Courses series since my library has a large number available) but haven’t figured out the second one or finished anything new although a few new things are in progress:

BINGO

Brewed a second beer! It is delicious.

Looking at what’s left, i might still actually be able to pull off a bingo without any covid-related changes!

Hiiiiiiiiii I’m coming to crash the party, after realizing from yesterday’s livestream that it’s not too late to join! Some concrete tasks to focus anxiety about everything I think would be helpful. Also, um, my stash of OMD cat stickers is getting low, so…

A few notes:
-Read 75 books: I’m at 24/75, with 3 in progress.
-Yes I am not great at calling people I care about :grimacing: (E is a dear friend who lives across the country from me)
-Finish editing 1 book: this is finishing editing part of a Latin text for web publication for a previous employer. Um let’s hope I haven’t forgotten everything…

I think I’ve got a decent spread of longer-term and one-off easy items? We’ll find out woooooo
