This showed up in my photos from about a year ago:
They’re not in full flower yet, but I think they’re getting close! I can’t wait, because the flowers smell like lemons and it’s delightful.

When we went for a family walk a couple weeks ago we were able to see a woodpecker doing its darndest to peck a street light (the metal part, not the bulb part). It kept at it long enough that even inobservant Kiddo saw it, then it flew to another spot further along our walk so we were able to watch it for another minute or two.
This morning Kiddo was able to identify that there was a “woodpepper” nearby just because he heard the sound of it pecking on a nearby tree.
Oh gosh @panda I just love that! I’m a sucker for walkways/housing like that anyway but that’s just gorgeous
On the way home from work yesterday I was stopped at a stop light with my windows down.
The vehicle next to me was a shiny black Chevy SUV; its windows rolled down too, an R&B tune blasting from a really good sounding system. The driver had huge biceps with tattoos from their shortened sleeve to their wrist, gold chains on their left wrist draped over the steering wheel, grey/silver hair in cornrows, a near-empty jug of Tropicana in their right hand.
They were full on chair dancing, some killer moves, and singing at the top of their lungs with perfect pitch to a lyric something like “You know the way I love you baby”. It was DELIGHTFUL. Oh my GOODNESS was it good. I wanted so badly to get their attention and ask if I could video because it made me so happy, but they were in the moment. A freaking glorious moment.
This bunch of flowers came through in a pallet of fruit and veg from the supermarket at my packing shift at the food bank this week. Normally they go in the compost straight away but I saved it and it is pretty. Please ignore the wax drip I haven’t cleaned up yet…
For the second morning in a row I had breakfast in our deck. The birds are singing and it’s cool enough that I am wearing a sweater but not for long. The sun is already high. I think I’ll have a walk with the kids as soon as they wake up.
I went to bed on time last night and woke up on (internal clock) time! This morning is going to be great with all the extra time before work.
I found this actor’s account through a friend today, and he’s just so wholesome!
The trees outside my window are leafing out. 1- beautiful. 2- fun to watch develop. 3- soon to be much more privacy in my living room. 4- perfect timing to shade my sunny windows as weather warms up. 5- BIRDS.
I had hot cross buns for breakfast, crispy outside and soft inside. We’re about to put up the paddle pool for the hot weather today (37C / 98f)
Just back from a delightful bike ride. Overcast, perfect temperature, no rain.
Cat in lap.
He really is!
This is my new favorite children’s book!
A happy 82nd birthday to my roommate’s nana -
(unlisted vid, thought folks on OMD might enjoy - had trouble embedding, if any tips let me know )
Hope this Friday finds everyone feeling supported by loved ones, and well.
My infant is fascinated by electric toothbrushes.
My dog is loving the sunshine on the patio recently, and re taught herself the bells to ask to go out.
We’ve been able to figure out a really neat thank you gift for our neighbors and it won’t even cost us anything, but will be perfect for them.
Uuum adds it to desires
All future coffees shall have a Cadbury egg melted under the espresso shot.
We just had lunch in our terrace (deck). Then LG (almost 5 yo) proceeded to teach his 9 yo sister to set his workbench https://m.sears.com/deao-toys-deluxe-tool-work-bench-convertible-suitcase/p-A068100141. Then they got a bunch of rugs to lay in the garden and enjoy the sunshine. MG was drinking tea and I felt like we had all the time in the world. We were just there having a good time in family and it was so nice. After a while I went to my bedroom to take a little nap and MG and all the kids came to join me. We’ll make a mess but who cares.
