His Lordship lacks a volume control knob and barks a lot. Mine might be broken too.
Your animals are very polite and recognize that they live in an urban neighborhood.
Birb has lived way in the middle of nowhere, in a tiny house, on a farm, in the middle of the city, in a suburb, in urbania x2, and now here. Still v few borks.
Many places, always polite. :3
Luigi is not polite. We thought he was when we first brought him home, but 2 weeks in we discovered why he had been named Barker at the shelter.
To keep this positive space compliant, his reactiveness was very reassuring for me when husband would be working overnights and I was alone in my apartment with some occasionally rough neighbors.
The big machine construction noise is done for the day so I am sitting in my hammock, reading my steamy novel and listening to the bird calls. There’s a pair of morning doves pecking through my grass and a blue jay looking guy that keeps considering the bird feeder. When the breeze comes from the south, it ruffles through my sweet almond bush and carries the scent to me.
She’s so pretty
So glad she’s feeling bettter!
I fed my niece homegrown potatoes tonight, and she was so impressed she drew me a potato queen trophy.
Your niece is amazing! Look at all those hearts! And that is quite the award, HaH.
Ooooooooh I’ve got one!!
About an hour ago a guy who was pushing a mower came to my door knocking. I thought he was mowing lawns but when I went out to speak to him he introduced himself as a neighbor from down the block (Fred) and asked if he could pick one of the roses from my rose bush out front because they are so pretty.
He said he met a woman yesterday and he wanted to bring some flowers by her house.
Y’all!!! OMG.
I promptly cut him a little bundle and packed it up all cute in some brown parchment paper while we chatted a bit. It was so precious. He asked me a few times if I thought it was “too much” to bring her flowers and he seemed genuinely excited and nervous. When we were done chatting he went rolling his mower down the street with a big ass smile on his face with his flowers for the person he just met and likes.
Yay! <3
Awww! That makes my heart happy.
Fred’s a good one! Hopefully she likes him too!
I absolutely love your neighborhood stories. You and your neighbors are truly building a wonderful community there
Update: Saw Fred on my evening dog walk (and now that I know him I realize I’ve seen him in the neighborhood quite a bit and should have introduced myself sooner).
anyways…
Saw Fred on my evening walk and he said she LOVED THE FLOWERS! He was beaming. Yay!
Yay Fred!
I am very much here for quietly observing/cheering for Fred’s very sweet romantic endeavors
Go Fred, go get your Wilma
I love thinking of Fred being the star of a Flinstones remake! His big ass smile showing off his gold teeth while he trots along in the little foot-car they used in the show.
