I know from the thumbnail alone that this is my stuff. There was a gentleman who reviews apples, Iā€™ll have to find him again

Itā€™s nice to know another connoisseur of minutiae.

Oh my goodness I love him. And heā€™s eating straight out of the pan. ā€œit was on sale so I bought itā€

Look how handsome he was!

Iā€™ve been binging these two people watching the original Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time. They are so wholesome and theirs is the first ā€œreactsā€ type videos Iā€™ve actually liked. Their wholesome reactions take me back to watching those movies in the theater for the first time. I forgot how often the pacing leave you on the edge of your seat!

Be warned, they made Return of the King into a two parter because they watch the directors cut and they havenā€™t released the second part yet.

PTF.

I have gone through several youtube phases.

My starter drug was farming/homesteading videos. Watched the entire Rhodes family Great American Farm tour, and a bunch of Epic Gardening, Charles Dowding, Huw Richards, Richard Perkins and others. Also watched a big chunk of the back catalog of Gardenerā€™s world and anything I could find with Monty Don (he is the Bob Ross of gardening, I swearā€¦)

Then I did a bunch of food related stuff. Mostly Serious Eats and J. Kenji Lopez-Alt.

Then I got hooked on Taylor Swift when Red TV launched, and I binged a ton of reaction videos and old documentaries/interviews. My absolute favorites are the Chats and Reacts girls ā€“ their love for/knowledge of Taylor lore is unsurpassed. I recently started with the Swiftologist ā€“ heā€™s more critical, but also good. Blake the producerā€™s reaction videos and breakdowns are always excellent ā€“ I havenā€™t branched out beyond Taylor with him but plan to in 2023.

I got into Lawtube during the Depp/Heard trial and started following a bunch of people after that ā€” I love Emily D. Baker and Psychology in Seattle, and Spidey on The Behavioral Arts. Rob at Law and Lumber hosts a Friday night stream that I often watch, but if you arenā€™t already a fan of the gang who got together to live stream the D/H trial it probably wouldnā€™t be very interesting. The Lawyer You Know has some good stuff on current legal cases. I watch the Behavior Panel, too, but they tend to be a bit bro-y and sometimes sexist/insensitive so would hesitate to recommend to everybody.

Iā€™ve also binged a fair amount of UK real estate and restoration series ā€“ Country House Rescue is a good one. Escape to the Country is fun, too.

a few nights ago i woke up from a stressful dream and asked my brain for a cute dream next, and then i dreamt that he was in my house making a show on houseplant care and gently roasting me for my very laissez-faire plant care style :joy:

My new favorite thing is https://www.youtube.com/@robsquadmoviereactions

Itā€™s a wholesome couple that watches movies for the first time, thereā€™s a bunch of classics they never saw before. They recently did the Lord of the Rings movies and it reminded me of the magic of watching them the first time in the theaters. I just watch their video for Star Wars: A New Hope and itā€™s fun because I canā€™t remember not knowing all the Star Wars stuff and the first time they see a light saber theyā€™re like ā€œThatā€™s what that guy was carrying around at Disney!ā€

Incredible transformation, and I love the thought and idea behind thisā€”make your space look better without spending much $, so that you want to be there and take care of it. Even poor people deserve to feel good in their living spaces.
