I’ve had good luck with The Company Store and Lands End! You will probably be able to find jersey sheets in the kids section.
Does anyone have a treadmill that they like that is not $5k? I’ve been considering getting one, especially with how busy my schedule is with school, sometimes I just don’t have time to get outside to exercise. It would be nice to work/study and walk at the same time. I definitely want something that has elevation, so not a simple desk walking pad.
We bought one atDick’s a few years ago, and it was around $1000, I think. (It most definitely was not 5k!)
My dd runs on it sometimes. I just walk on it in the winter when I can’t bear to go outside. I don’t know what functions you might ant that it doesn’t have, but it does have a place for your iPad and a place for your water bottle, and those are the only two features I require.
Thank you! I hadn’t thought to check Dick’s or places like that. I don’t need anything fancy, honestly the most important part is that they can deliver and set it up in my house.
I know some people have been happy with Costco ones, they all seem right around $1k. Not sure how much delivery costs though.
I have a life fitness one and like it, and that it’s quiet.
Yes, and you pay a bit more for delivery into your house and set up. Otherwise they will drop it at the end of your driveway!
Amazon has a lot of kindle books free today as a one day deal. This site has more details and recommendations.
What are good hot weather sheets for bedding? I tried googling and immediately got overwhelmed with all the specific products being pushed.
I like cotton!
Cotton (sateen is good, nice and smooth and cool) or linen
i like cotton percale – they have that crisp cool feeling. i also like linen but they tend to be more expensive.
Does anyone have recommendations on where to buy a custom sized shade sale? Preferably online.
ETA it’s for outdoors, something like this but I need a non-standard size:
I have had a rough week and am going to whine for a second before I ask my question (since I don’t have a journal and don’t feel like starting one right now).
I drove 1204 miles to visit in hospital, then my mom died, then my dishwasher broke (on DH’s watch at home), then we very quickly made arrangements and had funeral (due to schedules of other important people), then DH’s main vehicle (2006) had major breakdown and isn’t worth fixing, then I drove 1204 miles home. Those are the highlights of my last 8 days.
Does anyone have dishwasher thoughts and recommendations? Both what is good and what to avoid? I seem to remember Bosch being a popular choice recently but haven’t looked. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Per husband-
Unlike microwaves (all made by the same handful of factories now, regardless of brand) dishwashers have the most variability. Most differences in features and parts. He has no known insider fire concerns and there’s no major current recalls due to deficits. He does say a coworker has seen a lot of leak valve failure on recent Bosch, but otherwise they’re fantastic units, so whatever you install it’s a good idea to pop a leak detector under there. He says otherwise he doesn’t know enough to have a brand preference, “buy what you like and what fits your budget”
We have a 22 year old Bosch in our house that works well still, but obviously past brand history doesn’t tell you a ton about current models, since these companies change so much over the decades.
ETA also I’m so sorry for the week you’ve had.
I’m so sorry for the week you’ve had.
I bought a Bosch back in 2018 and it’s been working well ever since. The only time it had a leak was when we forgot we couldn’t put a tall cup in the top rack in the corner and it wasn’t letting the door shut all the way, so that’s on us. The cup just needed to be moved to basically any other spot and it was fine.
We just did the research and the Bosch that are just under $1000CAD was our decision. 44dB
SilencePlus 44dBA is all i can pull since I just turned it on
Haha that is a big modern improvement. Ours cannot even charitably be called “quiet”.
No dishwasher advice, just wanted to say sorry for your loss and otherwise shitty week.
