Part of the problem is that I don’t care about lasting a lifetime. This bedroom can only fit a full bed, but long-term I’m going to want something bigger. I’m not willing to invest in super high quality for something that I know will eventually be posted on buy nothing.

Our metal ones came back apart easily to move, FWIW. Had to oil a couple spots to stop squeaks after reassembly but otherwise smooth as could be with the mallet they come with.

Check FB marketplace then? I’m searching for something very specific and it’s taking forever but if you’re less picky and want something cheap it’s pretty good in my area.

I’ve been looking. People are trying to sell Ikea beds for 90% of the original price, and even if I wanted them, I don’t have a car.

Boo.

I have used the app Dolly to pick up Craigslist furniture before, which is like Uber but for trucks. They seems to be available in Portland.

Yeah, I looked into taskrabbit. But I have decided on purchasing something new that can be delivered. This is what works for me right now. Too many factors to organize, and I get overwhelmed.

And yet I used to be a project manager :joy:

I wish this had just been a smidge later, I just sold a full size metal ikea bed on facebook marketplace for like $25. I would’ve given it to you lol, if you had figured out how to transport it and didn’t ghost me like half the people. I’d hung onto it for years, bought it secondhand on craigslist, but finally admitted I was holding onto it because it was a “good deal” and “new bedframes will cost more” not because I had a concrete plan for it

Dolly is way better than Taskrabbit for deliveries, in our experience. It’s way easier, like ordering an uber, but just for items.

It’s cool, I think you showed me a picture of that frame and I passed. Metal is too hard on my feetsies. I would rather pay more to get what I want. (I know. This is my villain era.)

Good to know about Dolly, if I end up needing it down the line.

Does anyone have pillows they really like? I’ve been just randomly finding pillows for my whole life and this has turned up with varying results. Preferably something that comes in a king size and is a bit more firm. I had a memory foam pillow once that was pretty good.

My good new pillows are shredded memory foam- one is from silk and snow. The price is horrifying but free with my mattress. The others were an unknown brand but I also like them a lot- the pillows have softened but not collapsed and gone hard like regular fiber fills.

I also have some sort of shredded foam but I think it’s bamboo? We got 2/$50 from Costco 5 years ago and they are still holding up well.

I also also have a shredded memory foam pillow from Costco. I like that you can sort of fluff it up again if it gets too squished, but it still molds around your head like memory foam.

May have to shred up some old memory foam now.

I’m starting to see Black Friday deals so please tell me what vacuum should I buy for daily use with LVP flooring? I started looking a few weeks ago and got overwhelmed. No canister vacuums, preferably cordless.

I’ve heard really good things about the Tineco cordless stick vacuum as a much cheaper alternative to the dysons. We have an old dyson and while I like it, they are SPENDY and it’s starting to get annoyingly flexy (and we had to replace the battery) 4 years in now.

I don’t know if it meets all your specs but we have a Shark and my husband (who is like, a pro level cleaner) loves it.
