Yes, correct, but after a week or so I think it would be sufficient as the one I have pulls considerably less now (and so needs emptying less frequently) that the humidity isn’t 75% inside and 90%+ outside every day. So it would take a bit longer to get to that point, but would still be sufficient. The 35 pint unit itself is a little smaller (and lighter, though not by much) and cheaper.

ETA: It will be partially related to the size of the space requiring dehumidification - my spaces are small. I went with a larger unit so that I could run it on lower speed once the humidity was under control (so, quieter potentially), but I don’t think it was really necessary.

Good white towels. Eco-friendly a plus, but I mostly just want soft, nice towels that will last me for several years.

I’ve had these for three years and they’re still going strong!

Does anyone have a recommendation for really lovely sheets? Bonus points if they are a reasonable price because I have issues apparently spending money on sheets… Husband says it’s reasonable to spend $100+ on sheets though.

In college (10-15 years ago now LOL) I never spent more than $25 on sheets and I bought cheap stuff. Now I still buy pretty cheap stuff, but had to move the price point to $50. Point being, yes, sadly $100+ for good sheets seems totally expected. I have no recommendations, just validating price point. See: aforementioned cheap sheets.

I buy 1000 thread count because apparently I am a princess when I sleep. I don’t care about brand name, I believe my last couple of sets have come from Target and were around $100 for Queen size.

Don’t know if this meets what you think of as lovely, but I love the Lands’ End flannel sheets. Super cozy!

The other sheets I’ve liked in the past are Macy’s Charter Club damask stripe supima sheets in 300 thread count (now I think they’re doing some counting trick and doubling all the thread counts, so now 600). Usually if you wait, they’ll be heavily discounted. Black Friday is coming up if you are up for waiting a couple of months!

I also use Target high thread count sheets. IIRC we have the 800 counts? They last us a pretty good time (eventually the fitted sheet will wear thin and rip, but only after years of heavy usage) and they’re cool in summer and feel nice on the skin.

To be fair, I’ve never experienced a Serious Luxury Sheet, so these may or may not be sufficient depending on your standards.

I’m pretty sure I don’t need more luxury than 1000 thread count lol. It’s really hard to go back to less if needed later.

See I am of the mindset that $25 sheets are fine. Husband is not so much so trying to find some sort of middle ground where I can get decent sheets that aren’t a billion dollars. Target us sounding like a good option!

Oh yeah, I would totally go to Target and get the Threshold sheets then! Pick yr thread count, pick yr pattern, and go!

I really don’t remember what thread count we have, but I remember rejecting other sheets for being too rough but really liking these.

I had really good luck for a while getting Ralph Lauren sheets for $40/set (fullsize) at Marshalls. I’m a pretty diehard percale/crisp/cool sheet person, so that was really good value for me. My current Target sheets are decent, but are a thinner/less smooth fabric, but I definitely only bought them because I wanted the ones with the peacocks on them. I had some nicer ones from Target that lasted a decent amount of time, but maybe under 10 years. I also look at the LLBean clearance section every once in a while. I can’t stomach their fullprice sheets, but on discount they’re ok (and sometimes have whales and things on them. no, I cannot resist an all-over animal print).

This is precisely what I have on my bed :joy: although it may have been Ross and not Marshall’s? Same idea.

Yes, Marshall’s and Tuesday morning have decent prices on sheets. I bought some on clearance at Kohl’s one time, with a coupon, and they were cheap and pretty fancy.

I currently have two sets of LLBean sheets that I bought at the thrift store. I always look for king sized sheets at the thrift store, and I will always buy any nice ones I find, because king sheets are $$$.

I’ve heard that Peacock Alley sheets are amazing, and I’ve seen them at Tuesday Morning!

I think all our sheets are from thrift stores at this point.

Recommendations for easy at-home bright colors hair dye?

I just got my hair bleached/highlighted, and I THOUGHT I’d booked a “cut and color” where I would come out pink, and that did not happen, and I am sad.

A few acquaintances have mentioned that they use those conditioner semi-permanent dyes like Surface or Overtone, but I have no experience with them. I’ve dyed my hair once with Manic Panic and once with like a Sally’s Flamingo Pink (or something) that my mom bought me, but TBH I’m really bad with sectioning and dying my own hair.

Does this look like a real store? https://lichi.com/us/en/product/40561

I am wary of weird scam stores

I desperately need a pair of house shoes as the hard floors of my apartment are killing my feet.

Budget: $50 (would prefer much less)
Size: Men’s 8 1/2 - 9, Women’s 10
Width: Wide (I no longer remember the specific letters)
Needs arch support
Must be slip-on

My right foot is especially suffering. The dumb thing is swollen and swells more based on activity due to inflammation from tendinitis. So cushy shoes with arch support but also room for the swelling would be most ideal :+1:t2:

I think you might like the Hoka recovery slides. https://www.hoka.com/en/us/womens-recovery-sandals/ora-recovery-slide/1099674.html?dwvar_1099674_color=SRPY
They are $50, soft and cushy, but also firm enough with good arch support. Since they are slides they are fairly wide with a good amount of wiggle room. I’ve had a couple pairs over the past few years and I won’t wear anything else unless I’m out exercising/hiking.
