My kid keeps breaking spatulas / flippers. He uses them to stir giant pots of rice & beans and eventually the handle snaps. Does anyone have a high quality spatula that is nonstick pan safe?
For nonstick, I would use wood. I have some that are bamboo and they seem pretty lightweight, but I have one that is hand carved from hardwood and that will not be snapping. I also have a wooden ladle.
For not nonstick, I’d get a metal one from a commercial kitchen supply place.
I also like bamboo for this! They are not good for flipping things so that needs to be a different tool usually IME
I should have mentioned, dishwasher safe is a core requirement. If kid has to handwash something he won’t use it.
I’ve used Get It Right silicone spatulas/flippers and have found them to be high-quality so far: Amazon.com: GIR: Get It Right: Flip
ETA non-Amazon link: https://gir.co/
Granted, I don’t know how massive these pots are that he’s stirring, but maybe worth looking into? I do like they’re one piece and so no crevices to catch nastiness
I am dishwashering all of my wood and bamboo right now, including third generation wood. It’s fine. Only one broke.
I dishwasher my wood spoons most of the time. They can be replaced as needed but it’s not that often.
I have 2 bamboo spatulas - basically flat edge spoons, not for flipping - and have been using daily and washing in dishwasher for 20+ years. No problems whatsoever.
If he’s putting nonstick pans in the dishwasher, they’ll need replacing before the bamboo spatula does!
I would like underwear that won’t fall apart quickly and is stretchy enough to fit between size 18-20. I usually wear bikini style. Seams along the butt crack are no good, seams in general are often annoying 6. I usually just buy Amazon basics or something that comes in a five pack and looks about right at target but I’m tired of them falling apart fast. Recommendations?
I like Lane Bryant’s cotton underwear - it lasts a long time and there are seasonally different colors/prints if you like variety. The cotton is super soft sensory-wise. They have a bikini cut, but as someone who preferred the bikini cuts in generic 5 packs, I actually like the hipsters cut better from LB. I’m pretty sensitive to where the waistband lands so the wide waistband style folds over easily and sits right where I need it. Their 18/20 is pretty generous so you may actually want to size down.
I searched high and low for undies without seams at the legs. I love these:
Evry are my new love for underwear!
But expensive. ![]()

The super high rise ones are so good for c section recovery dude
I only have 2 of those, but yes. Honestly the regular ones have also been OK for days 8-14. They’re soft. I wore a belly band under them one day to avoid edges directly in the stitches, and get a little extra support.
Thank you! I started with some of these and some bombas underwear based on research and I hope they work!!
I am going to an event in a few weeks, and the dress code, according to the person that the event is being held for, is “church nice for dress code. Sports coat, but not the suit? Um, what is the Canadian thing for ‘not the plaid?’” And I picked out a dress and sandals because the event is on May 1 and slightly south of where I live.
Well, the 14 day forecast is out. And it is supposed to be 11 degrees (51.8F) and drizzly, and - I am not so sure my original plan is still good
Original plan:
(stock image, not me)
So ok - do I add a sweater? blazer? I am so confused and stressing now. I am not normally a dress person, and am starting to panic a smidge. But, I dunno why, I really wanna wear a dress for this? Can I do something to make it warmer? (I am a pants and shirt person normally, no accessories, I literally do not know how to accessorize)
Other options:
Which, that would need a belt due to my own sensory - constraints. How the duck does one pick the right belt for a dress?
Or are neither of these the right dress. I’m not opposed to buying something else
Halp?
Purple dress, tights, jacket or cardigan or shawl
this is going to sound stupid but - what kind of tights?
