I… Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I didn’t realize they had local stores. I mean, it’s way across town in a bougie mall.

I believe they are also sold at REI

I feel like the more expensive a brand is, the more entitled they feel to have their own rules/universe and everyone else just has to get used to it!

Blundstones are from Australia and so don’t use American sizing.

Is half-sizes being between the whole sizes in length only an American thing?

Here in Australia the standard is that a half-size is wider but not longer, so I with my wide feet am a women’s Australian 7.5.

And, at least here, Nordstroms seems to have them? Both of those seem like stores where if they didn’t have the color or model you wanted in stock, they’d order it for you.

Fascinating! I am very much a US half size, so this makes life easier to just know that Australian shoe brands won’t work for me.

Same. This is why I own 2 pairs of Allbirds, one that is too small (worn only with the little footie socks) and one that is too large (worn only in winter with wool socks).

But it varies by brand and I have often been happy with just sizing up - maybe because of having wide feet - so I am still hoping that the 3rd pair of Blundstones will be the charm. I really need a hardworking pair of boots.

Apparently, Blundstones are extremely popular with Portlanders. But I’m not hip enough to have noticed. Or maybe I’m just too suburban. Or maybe a little of both!

I do notice the Suburus. Portlanders looooooove Suburus! Every other car is one.

I had only heard of Blundstones through this forum (so didn’t know their sizing system is actually normal in Australia lolol). Didn’t know what they were. So when I looked them up I was like ooooooohhhhh. Yep they are everywhere!

Same, I’ll have to remember this!

I am down my checklist of ‘things I’d like to get if they show up in my life’ to a soda stream, or off brand. I just found the brand of bread machine (Wellbilt) that I’d been looking for for a couple of years for $5 in a thrift shop. I had one years ago so knew it was what I wanted. Three loaves of bread later and I’m happy.

I know little about soda stream machines other than that a good friend who lives many states away got one and still loves it a year later. I’m looking to make drinks without sugar or caffein that have more punch than water alone. So, any pro’s or con’s?

We’ve been happy with ours BUT - they are not very good at making flavored seltzer. You can get little drops to put in but they don’t taste very good. You can add fresh lemon/lime juice, which is not bad, or I’ve been getting the sodastream branded mocktail mixers, which have sugar but not as much as other sweetened options. For us the big advantage is not having to buy soda in cans for our teenagers - less to carry home from the store!

I’ve been thinking of getting myself some nice bougie cans of flavored seltzer because sometimes I drink a White Claw just because it’s ready and doesn’t need to be mixed vs having to mess with the bottle. But I have several children of varying ages and getting dinner on the table is A Challenge, so YMMV.

I love sparkling water. Just the carbonation alone makes me happy. I usually add a bit of lemon or lime juice too. I have several bottles of “Bubbly” flavors that I found on clearance, but I agree with BF that they just aren’t that good. We’ve had our soda stream for 8ish years now and it’s been great. I do a mail service for canister exchanges, and I find that it’s handy to not have to do that at the store.

Taking notes. Thanks.

They were never on my radar before but one of my dance exercise friends was obsessed with them and then I found a really great pair for a deal at Sierra, waterproof thermal ones in a great color, and I love them!

Help! I have plantar fasciitis and it hurts a lot and I don’t think any of the shoes I own will be supportive enough to help with healing. I mostly wear Rothy’s flats and Rothy’s sneakers. I do have a pair of slip on sketchers tennis shoes that I wear for active stuff. I need to buy new shoes today but it’s overwhelming on top of everything else. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good all around walking shoe and a pair of supportive slippers I can wear around the house?

I’ve been struggling with plantar fasciitis off and on for a while. Here are the list of shoes my podiatrist sent me. I have the asics gt-2000 paired with blue Superfeet. At home I wear Oofos. What’s also helped is muscle scraping my heel and bottom of my foot on days that I run, plus general rolling tight muscles on my IT band and calves.
