Last time I did this I didn’t click the filter back in correctly and once I figured that out it stopped having residue. I hope the same is true for you!

Update, yes that was it! Not the filter specifically but the spinny arm on the bottom was just sitting on the floor of the dishwasher, rather than on its pole or whatever. (I totally know all dishwasher terms.) Things are working better, knock on wood.

These are my daily use boots for winter and I need to replace them with something similar (in color and height), seeking advice. They were like $30 at Costco and gave me 2 good seasons. These are the paremeters:

  1. I ride my bike in them so they need to be rugged or very cheap or something and not too stiff.
  2. I have pretty wide feet so they can’t be narrow, prefer something availabe in wide.
  3. Comfy for lots of standing and walking.
  4. Worn with socks.

Does anyone have suggestions? I’m willing to pay three figures for the ideal thing.

Just how fashionable do you want to be?

I wear Uggs in the fall, and snow boots once it’s really snowy. Those might be overkill for Denver. Uggs are so comfy!

I think I want more structure than an Ugg type? And my feet might get hot. I do get hot if I wear snow boots all day.

ETA: I just realized I totally forgot to attach the picture! I’ve added it now. That is the zone I’ve been in, boot-wise.

Boys/kids blundstones.

Oooh, that’s an idea. I love my boys’ Forces. Do they wear well? Like, I won’t scuff them on a bike pedal and feel sadness?

Oh! I have a pair of black Chacos that look just like that. Very comfortable.

I have wide feet and cans wear shoes that press on the top of my feet, and these were great. I got them at the thrift store but surely they are available somewhere.

During snow boot season I change into indoor shoes. Mine are very insulated and grippy.

But I also love my Uggs and am looking forward to wearing them in the fall.

Anyone have earrings they like that are comfortable to sleep in? I had bought a pair that was comfortable but the thing on the back was a ball and I couldn’t actually put on and back to front the peg was longer than the width of my earlobe so it stuck out funny.

I’ve had them 4 or 5 years and only one scuff that I couldn’t get rid of. I’ve realized polishing helps every so often

second the Blundstone suggestion. Super comfy, spacious toe box, great for standing, last forever. Definitely worth the price

Piggybacking off this one…where to buy earrings that is not amazon? Cheap enough that I’m not sad if I lose them and so that I can buy multiple but not so cheap that I get a pack of 20 and hate 17 of them?

I bike commute all winter in my Blundstones and they are great. Super windproof so my feet stay warm without overheating. Waterproofish for slush. I have the Rustic Black which has 3 winters of bike pedal scuffs and looks great. There’s also a Rustic Brown that looks like it behaves similarly, or some other more neater-looking browns.

The toebox is both wide and tall, and works really well for my wide forefoot/narrow heel. Sizing is a little funky. The half sizes are wider, but not longer. I ended up almost 1.5 full sizes up (+1 for roomy fit and 0.5 for width).

Here’s a deal from Sierra!

Half sizes mean wide for Blundstones. These are UK sizes, I usually wear 7.5 or 7W and UK 4.5 fit perfectly!

These aren’t actually factory seconds, they just say that, they’re discontinued styles!

Oh thank you! I wouldn’t have thought of that one.
