Could be festive at Christmas time.
Is the cheape Ryobi laser level good enough for casual home projects or is it worth it to pay more for a fancier one?
I want to add a chair rail and maybe box trim/moulding to a small (8’x10’) room and it seems like it would be helpful.
Ryobi is generally fine for occasional work. You want better if you’re using it every day.
occasional use sounds exactly like my level of diy. I have their small drill and it’s been fine for basic household stuff.
Tris’s journal reminded me that I need earplugs for a Ke$ha concert on Thursday! What do you all use?
Honestly the cheap foam earplugs that I got for $1 at the bar worked great at Macy Gray. I was able to adjust them to be a little looser (just pulled them out a bit) when I wanted more volume but when it was really loud I stuffed them in.
I also have some Loops but I always worry that they’ll fall out because they don’t fit snugly. And I didn’t have them on me that day.
I have these and they’re great. Have tested at a range of loudness and had great experiences at all levels. I have one set in every bag now
No advice but I’m SO excited for you!
I’ve worn loops to a concert and it was incredible. The sound was so much better with them than without them. Last night I went to a comedy show and wore my AirPods and that was really awesome too.
My lovely husband got me eargasms for the only proper concert I have gone to (last summer) and they were a lifesaver!
Anyone use Dirty Labs? I might try their dishwasher detergent, even though it’s expensive. Pods are made of dissolvable plastic and the only powder I could still find at the grocery smells like chemicals. Anyway, if you do use Dirty Labs, pass me a referral!
i tried it and liked it but some people like my husband have reactions to enyzmatic cleaners like that. we went back to costco free and clear!
For laundry or dishes?? I really hope nothing is staying on my dishes enough to cause a reaction
oh shit i need to read more carefully this was laundry! probably not applicable, forgive me
Well if someone had a referral, it wouldn’t matter
I don’t have any recs but have also been thinking about finding a good dishwasher powder.
If I try them I’ll let you know what I think!
I just bought a box of cascade powder for the first time in my adult life. I’ve never used pods but I’m tired of the liquid and read a bit and heard that powder was supposed to be best. I don’t have the spoons for a deep dive on dishwasher powder but if anyone finds something they love, I’d love to piggyback.
I’ve been happy with Blieland dishwasher tabs! (Tabs but no plastic)
I personally think powder is great! I’m opposed to pods. I don’t have facts for this stance; it just always seemed dumb to me. Why all that extra stuff when you just need some soap to mix with some hot water to clean your dishes? I always try to buy the simplest versions of things, or things without water. I never wanted to pay for water in my products, it seems the opposite of frugal! So I tend to like bar soaps, powdered cleaners. (But I had to change my mind on cat food. Apparently, cats need more water? I don’t know but I know my baby Rolo’s tummy is sensitive and his palate is picky so he gets a very certain brand and type- we only like pate, not that chunky shit!, and only certain flavors!!-- of wet cat food. But he’s my fuzzy little soulmate baby, not my clothes and dishes and surfaces.)
Although at the moment I do have a liquid dishwasher detergent because the store had no powder when I needed it. What is up with that?!?
Oh, and I actually watched a couple of youtube videos (where all knowledge comes from? ) on dishwashers. So now I do a couple of things: I run the water a bit before starting the dishwasher so it’s already hot, and I run the disposal to make sure it’s clear. And I put a bit of the dishwasher detergent on the door, so there’s some soap ready to go at the beginning, before the little door opens whenever it opens during the cycle to let the soap out. A bit of a prewash, I guess. But I do use a little less soap in the soap area to make up for it.
I don’t know if you were looking for this much dishwasher and soap talk today, but here I am to share my thoughts!
