Your Very Own Personal Shopper

Thank you wise forum for your help with the fitbit conversation. I am on track to get my delivery soon. Wheeee capitalism.

Here’s a request from my bro - any thoughts:

I was curious what your phone plan is? Diego and I are researching getting new phones on a new plan and it’s like 160$ for 2 people unlimited 5g broadband for 2 new iPhones (3$ a month per phone)

My entry to pantspalooza is this. I know pants are very personal so absolutely not offended if they don’t suit! https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/the-colette-full-length-wide-leg-pants-by-maeve-magic-fabric-edition3

This is the full length. I got the regular cropped version which is full length on me at 5’2". They’ve held up to toddler and dog abuse decently well, but I don’t garden or do trail work in them. Fabric is fantastic for my sweaty mid-atlantic climate.

I use Verizon prepaid with 15? GB data and with autopay and a “loyalty discount” it comes to under 40/mo. Spouse uses GoogleFi which I think comes out under 50 most months/avg? He has said its less great than when it started up, but still works fine. (We like the redundancy of different carriers…sometimes one of us has bad signal but the other is great). We pay for phones outright.

Not saying it’s right for you, but…whats out there for consideration.

I think some other forum-ers have had customer service issues with Mint, but I’ve been happy so far (~3 months). I got a half price pixel phone ($400), and their unlimited 5G for 12 months promo ($180). I use very little data and will drop down to their 5gb plan next year assuming everything continues to be ok.

We have T-Mobile on their essentials plan with 5 lines(parents and brother are on our plan). We pay $130 a month but buy the phones outright. If you can jump on someone else’s plan and split it it seems to work out well for people.

Seconding Mint

We’re quite happy with consumer cellular, two lines and 5G data per month for$45. More data available for $5-10 more.

I’m also on verizon prepaid! Haven’t had any issues with coverage, and it’s cheaper than regular Verizon.

I also have Mint, no major issues (so far, knock on wood).

I need help! I got this great old Stanley dresser free from Buy Nothing. My thought was to paint it white and maybe pink for the drawers to cover up the red- it is for a little girl’s room.

The problem is that I can’t find drawer pulls for the life of me. There are very, very few options for the size, which is 5.5" center to center, and the few that I have found look more like modern cabinet handles as opposed to pulls for a little girl’s dresser.

This is the dresser and an example of the kind of drawer pull I would like to find (white, drop-style), but really I’m open to suggestion as I’m not much of a designer. Where can I look to find giant drawer handles?

Since you’re going to paint it anyway, I’d put gorilla wood filler in the holes from the existing hardware and sand it down to be flush with the surface. Then drill fresh holes in a new location for the pulls of your choice!

Wait, I can do that?? Just make new holes??

Do you have a drill? That’s the only obstacle I imagine to making holes! (If not, get a drill. Good thing to have. :+1:)

Yep! As long as you have a power drill and a set of drill bits. For a drawer pull you’ll want to choose a drill bit thats very close (but a smidge bigger) than the size of the screw. Start smaller and then increase the drill bit size one size at a time if you aren’t sure which one to use.

You can definitely just do new holes, but this seems weird to me…5.5 were a pretty normal sizing when I was looking at replacing kitchen pulls (although those might be what you want to avoid), but it looks like they have other options too, ex from ebay since I’m trying to avoid Amazon:

Yeah, I saw the black ones like you shared here but I didn’t see anything else (besides the cabinet handles) and I don’t like the black. Too dark for my tastes for a little girl and they look uncomfortable to hold.

Eh?

Downside is this might be an each cost…a search term to try is “drop bail” dresser pulls.

Yeah, those are pretty $$ but much closer to the idea!

I have previously solved the problem by just using a knob in each hole.

But it is perfectly possible to make new holes.

Checking in regarding the pants journey. I have purchased these. I will update when they arrive. They checked a lot (not all) of the boxes. So we shall see.
