Ohh I am intrigued: do you have any advice about how to find them on sale?
I went back and forth for a looooong time over whether I should just suck it up and stop complaining, because I am generally cheap frugal, but I am also very “you get what you pay for” and “buy it for life” and every single time I made eggs they would stick. Every. Single. Time. No matter how careful I was. It was too much. This is so nice. I already am glad I did it.
(I’ve also bought cheaper (more iffy coating) nonstick pans too and they never last. My All Clad are the stainless, which are great until you burn them dry (and they don’t work well for certain things (eggs ahem)).
I’m no sale superstar, but I saw that Costco had them on sale (however you feel about Costco but my parents have a membership, so…)
Also, I should say, I often suffer from decision fatigue. I’d rather buy something expensive that I am reasonably sure will last me a loooong time than constantly having to be replacing things. If these last 10-15 years like the All Clad, it is definitely worth it for me. Plus, I shouldn’t be moving any time soon. It is privileged for me to be able to just buy stuff like this (although, again, I’ve been thinking on it for a loooong time and finally pulled the trigger).
Alright, I’m sold: I make eggs for breakfast most mornings, and I’m married to Costco’s number one fan.
I think going the Costco route too, if they don’t work out for you or you decide it’s not worth it, it should be easy to return, right?
I’ve somehow, after YEARS of making sticking fried eggs on nonstick pans and cast iron pans (so forget about scrambled!) been able to make perfect scrambled eggs on a $30 stainless pan I bought burnt to hell for $1 at a thrift store (?!?!?! What the heck?!?!)
I am disappointed because it ruined my need for a nice nonstick pan, ha
That looks great, Calbal!
@darlingpants out of all my merino stuff Icebreaker has been the most consistent in terms of good quality year to year.
I need new non-stick saucepans/ pots. I’m planning on ceramic ones, ie not Teflon. What am I looking for (it’s confusing) and anyone got recommended brands? I only need 2 (a smaller one and a bigger one).
I’ve been using these for… 30+? Can that be possible? years. Due to age the style of mine is just a little different, I think mine are by Corning. Love them. Great on the stovetop and in the microwave.
One of them though unfortunately cracked, the bottom part of a double boiler, after probably 25 years of use. I still have the top part and use it in the microwave only. I would replace the part that cracked if one happened to cross my path. I looked once, couldn’t find one and gave up.
Handheld, canister style vacuum WITH a HEPA filter? Doesn’t need a ton of attachments or tons of heads, it’ll just be carpet if needed. I already have one other vacuum but 1- would like to have one on each level and 2- would like a HEPA for fire season since I have asthma.
Cool flowy linen pants? Long because I want to wear them in lab.
ETA: I am a tall
Honestly Old Navy has some decent looking linen pants right now. I believe you can get them in a tall.
These are tencel not linen, but similar non-synthetic breezy idea: https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-put-together-easy-pant-black
I dislike sunhats. I need sunhats. We have this one for my son, is there anywhere that makes similar ones for grown ups?
I think @hipsail got some tall person cool linen pants recently.
@Elle Instagram has been advertising to me cute bucket hats with a bow in the back. I don’t remember the Etsy shop’s name but I bet if you tell Instagram you want a cute bucket hat it will give you the ad.
Sunday afternoons.
Yes, I got some amazing tall linen pants from Amalli Talli: Seaside Striped Tall Pant.
Not sure how tall you are, but they have an extra long inseam if you require that
Old Navy tall sizes are pretty good too as mentioned (and really affordable for special sizing!) pretty reliably a 33 or 34 inseam. I’m juuust over that so it’s item specific for me but if you aren’t quite as tall they will work great!

Honestly you are ~75% of the reason I want pants. 25% is someone at work wore really cool pants.
I need a food processor. Not one of those mini-chopper things that is handheld, but a 8-12 cup electronic one that will work great for making hummus and falafel and other things that need the heft of a food processor.
I don’t really know what to look for, my main concern is storage space, ease of cleaning, and powerful motor. Where do I start? I might be looking second hand, but I need to know what to look for!
