+1 to what @Bracken_Joy said. Washing machines in particular almost never leak themselves. It’s almost always the hose or the hose connection. That’s a five to $10 fix
Oh interesting, thank you both! So it’s leaking two places, at the bottom of the door and underneath (but out of the bottom of the machine). Does that change the advice, or stay the same?
I would price out the gasket. Most often it’s the same leak causing all water, they often can channel around in weird ways.
Thanks, helpful! I’ll see if we can get a repair person in.
I agree. Bottom of the door makes it sound like it’s probably a gasket rather than a hose.
If it turns out you need to replace the dishwasher, I’m all in on Bosch dishwashers. You don’t need to get a fancy top of the line, but they are Very Good at making things clean. (The third top rack for silverware is a game changer, personally).
If you are in the US with a Lowe’s nearby, check out their scratch and dent isle. They are marked down and apparently you can continue to negotiate. Might impact the warranty though.
Thanks, good to know! I think it would be worth trying to repair the washer but the dishwasher is a lost cause.
I need something to wear to a funeral.
I own zero clothes right now that aren’t jeans, tshirts, or pajama pants.
Needs to look good on a petite, but not skinny.
I have zero idea on where to even start looking. Which is why I don’t have anything that would work already. (also probably don’t have shoes)
Any ideas?
price point? time until you need it in-hand? (also, I am sorry)
People just wear regular clothes, mostly dark colored, to funerals now, IME. If you are actually the widow, buy a dark suit. Otherwise, you’re good.
Budget/sizing/what type of clothing would you feel comfortable wearing?(aka dress, skirt, pants, needs to be comfortable in 100degree weather…etc)
-
Cheaper is better, but I can spend whatever assuming you aren’t suggesting Chanel or something.
-
Thank God, not the widow. Although my uncle was really too young for this. So normal clothes, but still probably not jeans.

Need it next Thursday to fly to Arizona. So highs are close to 100 already.
So I guess I’m gonna go to Target and kohls and order a crap ton of stuff and hope it fits.
No idea where to look for shoes. Maybe nordstrom online. Their in-store was always good…but we don’t have one here.
I would look at macy’s or another department store before target honestly. Their stuff is skewing very 90s trendy right now. Kohls is a good bet. I was just eyeing a sheath dress there this morning.
I was in a similar situation a few years ago (outdoor funeral in the summer in charleston), I ended up with a knee length, short sleeves black dress in a poly blend that wouldn’t show any wrinkles from being shoved into a suitcase hurriedly. Filter stuff marked wear to work and you’ll steer clear of the worst of the cutouts and blinginess.
Simple black flats are always appropriate and you can grab those at target.
Maybe something like this faux wrap dress (Athleta, very wrinkle resistant, doesn’t show sweat, $26)?
Thanks for the suggestion.
Yeah- I agree with you. Target is not going to be the way to go.
I think I’ve officially moved into “too old for this”. Their dresses seem to be little house on the praire vibe, which is not an aesthetic I’m going for.
Thanks for the suggestions.
One of my friends texted their clothes department to our group chat and said “if this is fashion, I don’t want it”
I mean, there are other people it looks good on. I’m not one of them.
Kid’s lunchboxes that don’t have a handle on the skinny side? I feel certain that my kids will somehow spill their lunches, even in a bento box, if it gets tipped on the side when they carry it. Is this not what happens? How does everything not goop around?
My lunchbox is a flat carry one, but I bought it probably 12 years ago, and I can’t find fun ones for the kids.
The bad (?) kind:
I always just put things in inside smaller containers. So it’s not just like, a plate zipped in, but just a carry bag for containers of food if that makes sense.
