Your Very Own Personal Shopper

Are gifts an important part of his love language? It could be if it’s not, “meh” and checking the box is all that’s expected/needed. There’s a reason husband and I both stopped giving gifts to each other :joy: (well, now we wrap our annual Black Friday shoe purchases so we don’t like, traumatize our eldest child)

We both don’t really care and tend to just find things throughout the year. Haven’t done more then a card in years. But I figure it would be good for kiddo to see us open something. Chocolate would probably be good enough.

Ooh! Merch! I looked for live podcast recordings but merch is easier.

I was thinking The Green Brothers crazy socks but even that got a meh. Lol.

Where are we all buying nice quality bathroom towels these days? Ready to upgrade from scratchy thin crap.

I asked this a few months ago, and @noodle recommended the Vera Wang Signature towels from Kohls. I just bought them, but so far, so good! They are very soft and luxurious.

Are there good black Friday / cyber Monday deals that people are excited about? I feel like if I know I need things : new bras, still and maybe sheets & pillows, then now should be a time to find a deal, but so far I haven’t seen anything that sounds exceptional.

There’s a Black Friday purchases thread too.

My bra sale will probably not help you, I’m contemplating an extra nursing bra :joy:

Costco has nice towels. I recently bought some thrift store towels that were originally from Target, and they are very nice.

I have also bought som not very nice towels at Target over the years, so they have different levels of quality.

Ours are from target and I hate them.

If you thrifted those, maybe they were older? Quality seems to get less and less for fabric-related stuff as time passes.

these waffle weave onsen towels are really nice/fancy and the dark colors are 50% off right now. i have some oatmeal-colored ones i got a few years ago on sale and they have held up well! plus the bath sheet is big enough to wrap around me.

eta: bummer seems like only the dark brown ones are left.

Seconding Costco bath sheets (thick, fluffy! Color selection is limited/varies.)

I’ve also seen ones I liked the feel of at TJM/Home goods (Cora brand, for one?) and the hand towels are holding up nice. Harder to find bath sheets, not towels, and I like a towel I can wrap up in!

Does anyone have bedsheets (esp fitted sheet separates) they highly recommend? We’ve mostly favored Target ones but the last ones we got I was less happy with: didn’t fit our 14" mattress as well as before, ripped faster than expected (or is that just time passing?)

Current preference for 100% cotton percale, happy with low thread counts (we use IKEA duvet covers they’re like 200-400TC but soft!) . Would try linen/blend, bamboo, eucalyptus if rec’d. Not interested in jersey, sateen, polyester (ick). Flannel is great but not in SoCal :hot_face:

I have some LL Bean sheets that are Just Right - not to heavy, not too thin, not too slippery, not too stiff.

Do you know how deep the sheets/your mattress are?

Our mattress is probably not 14”, but the sheets seem pretty roomy.

Towels @TrisPrior I posted the same question upthread. I ended up with some from IKEA that i think started with a V. There’s a link up there too. They were more affordable than some of the other recommendations and I have been happy with them.

We have a set of sheets that I think are cotton from Costco and they are great! They have an elastic thing on the corners that keep it from coming off our deep mattress.

Bean are the only ones we have that fit on our ridiculously thick mattress and I love them.

Recommendation for a really good body butter? I had bought a tub of Ode and it’s so luxurious but pretty heavy on fragrance (it’s a nice fragrance but I really want something more subtle). Hoping to pick up some more on Black Friday.
