Personally not a fan of all those apps like mint or ynab.

They’re basically collecting your information and selling it to financial services companies to either sell you loans, credit cards or repackaging it to sell it to data aggregators that use it to target you based on purchases you made - could be dangerous for people with impulsive shopping habits or gambling addictions.

There’s lots of free excel spreadsheets that have advanced functionality thanks to macros and AI (if you choose to use it, knowing that some of that data could be resold or reused but not in the same way as SaaS based budget tools).

hmm, well, mint doesn’t exist anymore and i’m pretty sure YNAB doesn’t do that (i’ve never gotten any kind of offer through them).
