Why are you crying?

We are at the beginning of another illness so the real question should be why aren’t you crying? Tears at the slightest tiniest thing from both of them. B starts wailing and trying to explain why she’s walking but all that comes out is “wa wa wa wa” and we have absolutely no idea what she’s saying.

Current crying because I won’t let her pull down my shirt and pinch my nipple. You can’t make this shit up.

Daddy put the spoon in the dishwasher instead of the drawer where spoons go. (The spoon is dirty)

Thank you, line a day journal, for reminding me that one year ago I made my child cry by telling her people can’t eat grass like cows do.

She is crying because she wants spaghetti, not pasta. She pushed the bowl away and started crying. Toddlers man.

A couple of unforced errors by my spouse*:

  • “Daddy has to put on my other shoes because I can’t wear sandals to the construction site.” BUT I WANNA GO TO THE CONSTRUCTION SITE!
  • “Why don’t you take your ice cube into the bath and see what happens?” BUT WHERE DID MY ICE CUBE GO? IT MELTED! I WANT ANOTHER ICE CUBE!

(who is otherwise a wonderful dad, but, my dude, saw these coming a mile away…)

Today my kids cried because TR (2.75) wanted to put the Chunkies (oil pastel-textured fat crayons) back in the box and close the lid when they were done drawing.

Spore (5) didn’t want him to close the lid until all the labels were facing the same direction. :woman_facepalming:t4::woman_facepalming:t4::woman_facepalming:t4:

It’s truly remarkable to have your own foibles reflected back at you.
