Third booster end of August. Wait… i think I only have to wait 120 days. That’s four months. The end of December I’ll be due! Thanks for getting me to rethink that @galliver !
Bivalent Covid three weeks ago, flu shot last week, pneumonia vaccine this afternoon. Next up: Shingrx.
Flu shot today! Got a candy. Happy with that.
I got my flu shot today!
Got mine today!
Good year to get it done
“H3N2 is the predominant viral strain currently spreading. Previous seasons with mostly H3N2 viruses have been of higher severity, particularly for older adults and young children, the CDC says. It’s still too early to tell if this trend will continue.
The U.S. has not seen this high of a burden since the 2009 H1N1 swine flu pandemic.”
Do you happen to know if this strain was included in the flu vaccine this year? The article doesn’t say. I would hope so, if this is the dominant strain, and officials are pushing that it’s especially important this year, but (I know it’s difficult to predict ahead of time when they are formulating the yea’s dose, just curious. I already had mine when I got my covid booster.)
I thought that was a pretty glaring omission, too! I’m not sure, I’ll try to find out.
Currently sitting waiting for my flu shot. Couldn’t get my Covid booster at the same time, alas, but at least I’ve had plenty of exposure etc there here’s to hoping I don’t lose the whole morning waiting on this flu shot. I was second in line when the Costco opened this morning and supposedly it’s a flu shot clinic day. I see nothing to indicate that, but oh well.
Got it DONE! Now to get SirB, and hard mode campaign- get my family to do it, lol. They all ostensibly want to. But actually doing it… tbd
Finally got mine done on Monday!
I have had soreness in the arm where I got the shot, same as usual (though not too bad at all this time), but I noticed another side effect I haven’t seen before—a bright red spot, about the length and half the width of my palm, the same distance down from the injection site. When I touched it I could tell that the spot was a little swollen and warm, but the soreness didn’t seem to be localized there. I’m surprised it doesn’t hurt more since it’s so bright.
I finally got my flu shot! 4th try was a charm (and it almost wasn’t).
This is the latest in the season I have ever gotten it. Next year I will get it in September if I’m doing other medical stuff, even if it’s “too early”. This year I missed appointments/clinics 3x. I got sick with not flu in October, missed a clinic by about five minutes in early Nov, missed another appointment in late Nov because I had the actual flu, and finally today was a success. This is a shout out to my local health department for making the process really easy. Yay public health!
I’ve has to reschedule a couple of times, too. Newest appointment is for Wednesday. Here’s hoping it happens this time!
I can’t remember if I put on here that I got my flu shot. I did it pretty early, I think September at my 6 week postpartum visit.
Whelp, I am one of the people who gets the flu anyway! Currently nursing my baby with a mask on hoping against hope that she doesn’t get it. Hopefully the vaccine will mean a lighter case. I also have tamiflu because of my asthma.
Get well soon BF!
Reviving this thread! Got my COVID shot today and have my flu shot scheduled for next week. Stay healthy, everyone!
Oooooh hoping I can get mine soon! Good point. I’ll ask my OB Thursday when I go in!
Got flu, covid, and pneumonia shots on Sept. 22.
I am also all vaxx’d up! I did flu and covid separately, about a week apart.
