I have parents who help out with childcare, and part of why they can do it is that my mom retired at 65ish with a not fancy but solid public sector pension: that’s probably what he means? Make sure grandparents have good retirement plans so they can help out?

I read before that his MIL quit her job and moved across the country away from her husband to live with them for a year to watch their baby.
