Innnteressstinggg!!
I’m going to play outer wild now so thanks for your poll!
I have only played on PC with keyboard so can’t speak to controller stuff. I really like it! (Super chill music except in the poison areas) They have done several updates to make the poison mechanic less stressful on the easier modes and have done regular updates so honestly it feels pretty fleshed out despite Early Access. Most of the gameplay stuff I found annoying (not game-breaking) they’ve fixed.
Also you pet Onbu! And idk I just feel like chilling out with my post-apocalyptic dino friend sometimes. I play it when I need something engrossing/quest-y but not terribly deep concentration gaming. Same niche as Planet Zoo but far less to keep track of.
I zigged instead of zagged! I got Griftlands instead!!
$7.99 while the sale lasts
Oh this looks really fun!
Such a renegade.
Update: this game is really captivating!
The mechanics are fun, and it has a Hades-esque feature where dying and re-starting your run comes with upgrades for the next session. I just unlocked a second character’s story arc.
Did you try I Was a Teenage Exocolonist? Similar sounding!
I have not yet!
I LOVED exocolonist but be warned there is lots of heavy content. (Character death.)
Kiddo and I want to play a game together. Something cozy, low stakes, fun, multiplayer, for PC. So far all we can think of is stardew but we’ve both played enough of that on our own. What’s your favorite multiplayer cozy game?
We consider Valheim very cozy. It’s true that as you progress, it does get harder, but we find ease and comfort in picking berries, chopping down trees, building a campfire, hunting, and roasting food on it. It does involve killing boar and deer, so I don’t know if that’s a deal breaker?
In this vein - @neovonretorch I’m not sure how you feel about early access games, but we’ve been playing Pax Dei, and it’s pretty fun. Easier with a “clan” of people to help with resource gathering, because crafting leveling is (slightly unreasonably) resource-intensive right now, so we’re all specializing.
Multiplayer for local couch co-op or for multiple devices?
I really liked Flock but afaik it’s remote co op only
We are talking about ways to stay connected when I’m off travelling and he is in college. It means I’ll have to get a handheld gaming system, which sounds great.
Aww that’s awesome.
Idk if it would be your vibe but I feel like Kid would enjoy causing havoc in Baldurs Gate 3.
I think we might both need higher spec machines for that? I’ve been wanting to play it since it came out.
Steam deck can run it if you get a handheld, idk what kind of desktop he’ll have for school though
I love that you can multiplayer the Untitled Goose Game. much more enjoyable and chaotic than playing solo.
Although I love BG3 with a passion of a thousand suns and wish anyone and everyone would play it multiplayer with me, I am not sure that it can be classified as “cozy”…
