Tiny Victories

A whole lot of things are coming together for getting the rental house prepped and on the market. Massive progress = happy snacky.

Also my contractor is hot and I think he was flirting with me.

I am eating bacon-wrapped scallops for the first time ever. Why did no one tell me about this food item’s excellence? It is an excellent food item.

Family Pasta Night 2019 is in the books. I am stuffed all the way up to the gills, and weigh three pounds more than I did this morning. I am now a plump, happy ball of contentment.

It’s an excellent food item. I’d like to also introduce for your consideration bacon-wrapped dates.

I think we’ve found the secret to good food is bacon-wrapping.

My godfather is first-generation Italian-American, and every year he lays out a humongous spread of pasta, homemade meatballs and sauce using his late Mama’s recipe, Italian sausage, eggplant parmigiana, calamari, artichokes, and lots of other stuff, and the whole extended family comes. As his wife and my mother have been best friends since middle school, we are OFFICIAL family. Yesterday the final count was 48 people!

That sounds absolutely incredible. I may steal this idea.

ETA: when I studied abroad in Rome, our TA had a party for us all that consisted of her putting a plastic table cloth on a long table, spreading polenta all over that table, then putting different toppings on different sections of the polenta. I would like to combine these parties.

I learned unexpectedly from a YouTube video that my calorie tracker has a barcode scanner. The big victory is that it can often find products that I can’t find it through search terms alone. This has simplified my life a ton.

I have echinacea tea. It may not actually 100% work the way the label wants me to believe, but it’s delicious and nice on my throat.

Yesterday I figured out that swapping my heartburn med was probably why I was so exhausted the last few days. So I took my dose before bed, instead. So far today I haven’t been NEARLY as tired. Still not controlling my heartburn as well as the old one, but eh, I’ll take one victory!

ETA; whoops. Just realized the extra from the grinder I added to my coffee was caff, not decaf. So that’s definitely a variable!! I’ve had one caffeinated coffee in the last… 3 or 4 months?
