My family likes to do matching family holiday Jammie’s. We all fit into last year’s style except the baby. I was able to find new with tags with the exact same pattern for $18 for the baby and we can all reuse them!
Slowly trying to move everyone towards a more frugal holiday tradition! Last year my major win was getting the grandparents to give a majority of gifts from things they found on Buy Nothing.
I know it’s August and the holidays are far away but Costco is probably going to have Christmas trees next week sooooo…
Update with additional victories we got here an hour early bc babysitter was early so we are having (strong) drinks at the attached lounge and I ordered empanadas for pickup from the place across the street so we won’t be eating entirely popcorn dinner for a 3 hr movie
I read online that if you put clusters of elderberries in the freezer, they were much easier to get off the stems, and damn if it isn’t right! My life just got better.
I recognized the grumpiness/sensitivity yesterday (blowback from PTSD and rearranging space/insecurity) BEFORE I made it into a fight. (Actually, this is a BIG victory!)
But I also figured out the next step in the house reorg/tidy and I hadn’t had a clue!
I am officially on sabbatical for the next 4 weeks. I was supposed to be on sabbatical starting Friday, but there was a major presentation for <thing I did> that I kind of had to show up for today, but that is done and I am free.
I called the medium priced market’s corporate headquarters and complained about the website requiring log in to see the ad… Something I’ve meant to do since I first ran into this.
In the process, I found this website, which seems like it might be useful for other folks too?
I found a button on instagram to hide all suggested content for 30 days and my feed is actually usable again. Only posts from people I follow
I’ve been wishing for this feature for a long time. I only use social media through an internet browser so this could have been available for others before now. Could be a bad thing if it gets me on the site more….lol
I clicked the 3 dots on a suggested post and it popped up “don’t show suggested content for 30 days” it might also be in the settings where you control your algorithm.
I cut my work hours back to 15 hours/week. On top of that, the agreed-upon days are in-office days, so I can leave my laptop & backpack full of accessories at the office!
